Super app but…

I use this app for open water swim for two years now and it is a very useful app for tracking my swimming session
With very few bugs until yesterday and today where my sessions were not recorded well
There is no update for this app and I would like some support because this was my favorite app for swimming

Just not right

Keeps telling me i am entering thumb first with hand. I have had freinds pool side guards etc watch and even done 2 lengths deliberately entering sideways with little finger going in first but still tells me thumb first.

Great training - shame about the tech

App is great. Great workout. Great training.
V. Disappointing that the app closes / throws you out, whenever you look try to look at training drills
Shame you can’t review previous week training drills

Amazing programming

Have been using for years and have become such a better swimmer. Have used for Ironman and distance swimming events.

Fantastic feedback!

Really helped my swimming!

All in one swim app

This app has everything a swimmer needs from detailed structured workouts to detailed insights on your stroke. The workouts give you exact pacing guidelines derived from your CSS which I haven’t come across anywhere else. Constant feedback on your stroke enables day-to-day improvement.

It’s everything I need

Easy to use. I use Stroke Insights (free with the GURU) for stroke correction. Plenty of plans and workouts for all distances and swim abilities. Frankly it’s brilliant app.

All round best swim app

A great tool for tracking each swim, 6 different stroke analytics, training plans to improve CSS times and staying motivated throughout the year.

Interesting stroke analysis

The stroke analysis is interesting and gives plenty to work on. It is linked to a well curated and extensive collection of videos explaining faults detected and suggesting drills to help correct them. There is also a large collection of sets and tailored schedules for attaining your goals. Helpful responses to questions while initially getting up to speed on the app. Well worth trying so can see if it works for you.

Great coach

It really helps improve your technique through the stroke insights. Great tool.

Great App

Been using it for a few years to help me structure my sessions. I swim without a squad so this helps me to stay focused.

Best swimming app in the world.

Everything in one place - trading program, swim insights, activities, swim sets, swim videos & much more 🥰

Very interesting app for serious swimmers

What’s working well:

-I had a coached session, which confirmed the accuracy of Swim Guru’s output.

For one session, my left arm was consistently entering the water first — and the app picked that up. The watch was on my left wrist, so understandably, the data shown was limited to that arm.
- On day two, I moved the watch to my right wrist and updated the settings accordingly. This time, the app displayed data for both arms. It’s still unclear how it estimates arm position for the non-watch side, but the readout was informative.

-The included images and videos are a great touch — there’s a wealth of material here on stroke mechanics, technique, and training approach. I’ve only scratched the surface, but what I’ve seen so far is helpful.

-The first swim’s analysis matched what my coach observed poolside, particularly around the effect of a thumb-first hand entry. That correlation builds confidence in the tool.

-Kick and drill sets are tracked well — and like Apple’s own app, this is handled quite accurately. Over a 3,200m session, the discrepancy was just 25m — effectively one length.

What could be improved:

Heart rate zones would benefit from clearer colour coding — red for high intensity, through to blue for recovery — following standard conventions.

Feature suggestions:

It would be a big step forward to offer more in-pool, real-time performance metrics on the watch itself. These are still missing in Apple’s own app, so Swim Guru has an opportunity to stand out. Useful fields could include:

1. Pace per 100m for the last interval (rather than session average)
2. Time and distance of the last interval
3. Turnaround time for repeat-on sets
4. Rest time tracking between intervals
5. Maximum heart rate for the session

Overall
A promising start — and with a few added features, it could become a truly indispensable tool for swimmers. Keep up the good work.

Love it

This app is one of the best swim technique apps I’ve ever used. I pair this app with my Garmin Connect app the two sync flawlessly. I have to say I am impressed. 😁

Fantastic

Great app, really well thought out with an extensive library of drills and workouts. Easy to create a training plan for any length/ schedule. Really impressed that this is free
