Worst app

Super unfriendly to use. The hyperlinks don’t work properly. Too much publicity 😭

Tom

This app does a disservice to the SXSW event. Such a poor experience and who on earth felt the persistent mail chimp pop up was a good idea. Way to erode a brand.

Functional but the pop up ad is torture

The app is fine but the mailchimp pop up ad is a special kind of torture. It is beyond me as to why a tech conference would allow a pop up add that appears when the app is opened, and then over and over and over and over again. A star is lost every time I see it. And if the star rating could go negative, this app would be on -100 stars. Please make it stop.

Terrible app

Login sign in issues

Full page click through ad every single time you open the app is a terrible decision

The mailchimp add that you have to dismiss every time you open the add is very frustrating!

TOO MANY ADVERTS

We’ve paid thousands for a ticket and you fill the app with annoying popup adverts that make it unusable! Pointless!

Mailchimp ad is so spammy

The mailchimp pop up is making me loose my mind (and want to uninstall the SXSW app) Is there a way to suppress it so I don’t have to see it every single time I open the app or am browsing in the app - please make it stop!

Pop up ads

Frustrating to have pop ups continuously appearing when trying to navigate the day

Mr zogg

Terrible terrible app. For a conference that has such a strong UX, design and innovation focus this app blows. Search functionality doesn’t work - just try searching for keywords like “AI” or “artificial intelligence” will yield zero results. Yet there are multiple talks on the subject.

Mail chimp spam is awful

Stop the ads! Poor experience

Useless

Spent hours to plan the entire agenda just for it to disappear on Monday morning.

So buggy and ads

So many bugs in this app. Events don’t load properly, it is almost impossible to log in, and even after buying a 1000 dollar ticket they have the nerve to serve full screen ads in the app. Pretty embarrassing for a tech conference

Ads? Is this a joke?

Paying for a ticket and still get ads in the app? This is a digital user experience conference and I’m getting ads wherever I open the app? What utter garbage. Do better

One of the worst tech event apps

For one of the biggest a tech conferences this app is shocking! I add to my favourites and suddenly sessions disappear. I can’t see the details. For the price we are paying for the ticket I certainly expect a much better service. In today’s tech world there is no excuse for such a terrible clunky app experience.

Poorly run conference

Over hyped and under delivered.

Dreadful

Dreadful - poorly executed and doesn’t show all the things under your favourites that you’ve marked.

Some suggestions

1. Music festival needs a FILTER BY GENRE search option. Because for people trying to discover what to go listen to, do you really expect us to decide what bands we like based off their names? Or read every single bio? When discovering songs on Spotify - the search by #genre option is PERFECT for fans to be matched to the music they want to listen to.

2. SXSW App needs a horizontal events view - the ability to see a day’s timetable of MY SCHEDULE sessions and event times.
Because currently, we have to scroll down a long vertical list of events, with the risk of missing or forgetting what we’ve just read while trying to schedule an already very jam-packed day.

It would solve a lot of on-the-day planning issues if users could see all starred (favourite) sessions on one day ALL AT ONCE - like the iCalendar app.

Even adding the ability to COLOUR CODE sessions for our self organisation would help a lot.

Thanks :)

A bit if sweating

Not everything is that close . If n the other hand packed of good stuff

Hardly innovative

The notes don’t save. It’s hard to navigate. Can’t collaborate with others. Should be much better

Needs more thought.

1st, in the general overall schedule view, there’s nothing to indicate what badge the session prioritizes which is frustrating when you’re trying to juggle and work out what you’re more likely to get into with your particular badge. But also just to indicate what the type of event it is without clicking through and trying to glean the info i.e there will just be a name “Alissa” and that could be a film or a gig or a panel.
2nd, it needs a “interested in” star AND an “attending” star. Because I’m interested in a bunch of things that are on at the same time and want to keep them noted for reference but only want to go to one of them, OR, want to keep them handy incase I can’t get into my first preference.
