Latest version keeps crashing on iOS
Terrible app
I can open the app, I can connect to my controller, but I cannot control anything with the app. The app seems to be a commercial for their lighting products. The pumps are good, but the app doesn’t work for me at all.

This app is terrible it should have am and pm to set up time can’t get my lights to start or end on time and it’s difficult to manage light spectrum app definitely need improvement great light terrible app 0 stars if I could
Maxspect L165 blue
Very poor app design, very buggy, light won’t connect and instructions aren’t clear for each and every model I had to go dig out the original manual to even get anywhere, and even then it still won’t connect to WiFi and before you say split them so 5g and 2.4g are separate, I already have. Please fix your software

Connecting device to app
I follow all instructions given in the owners manual, and I’m unable to get the device to connect to the application. Seems like I have a defective tank.

App is awful, always struggle to connect a device, definitely a reason why I would leave maxspect due to the app and not the lights, sort it out
Slow response
Application is very helpful as no need pf going to tank all the time to change the speed, as this is a cloud version it would be nice to have the timers for certain periods of the day. Lets say if i wanted to start the day with 60% and end by 7 in the night with 20% i cannot control it. Need to develop the application interface, as it is facing some connectivity issues. More modes should be implemented as device screen has more flow types than the application.

App doesn’t work
Ima trying to set up the app to better control the pump and it’s not connecting to internet or syncing Thur the app the PUMP works fine the app to control it is a different story

Seemed to work for a bit but was way less than intuitive. I now have connection issues and no function beyond on and off. Come on Maxpect do better! The Gyre is fine
Maxspect xf350 cloud edition gyres
As in other reviews, got to be the worst app, do yourself a favour and avoid buying this, right out the box one of the gyres made a awful sound when going above 30% power, and also after cleaning, eventually found out one of the motor bushings had literally seized onto the ceramic rotor pole, I know there fine tolerance’s but come on. Had to buy new bushings to fix the problem from the factory Then the control unit kept disconnecting from the cloud, so had to turn off and back on for it to reconnect. Everything was fine with the running of the gyres until I changed internet providers, reconnected the control box to the internet, so when it came time to adjust the program I had set, low and behold the gyre controller won’t connect to the cloud, bcuk have been very helpful, found out the one I have is installed with version 3.6 which is around 2 or so years out of date, so now it needs a update. Honestly this should be a easy fix, ie update itself or through the app. For the money the app and control box should have a more detailed interface. And why are all these devices still running 2.4GHZ, when everything these days runs 5G.

This app and all maxspec lighting is total garbage!! I have never successfully connected any lights to the app. No maxspec tech support and everything gets discontinued so no refund available. Stay away!

This app is trash. It keeps disconnecting from my pico and won’t let me reconnect. I keep trying to add the device manually but it won’t work. My pumps turned up to max level without warning (I had them on min) and now my shrimplets are blowing around everywhere and I can’t get the app to connect to stop it.

Impossibile
Like many others have said, it is impossible to connect my light to the app. Once it finally connects I have a short time to change it before I need to hard reset and try to reconnect. Takes atleast 10 minutes to connect to the light after constantly trying and restarting. Terrible experience for a $600+ light

Never works
The light itself is fine. But it never turns on correctly. Everyday the time on the light goes out of sync. Terrible
Lacks ability to set temperature
This app works fine for me, other than there is no option to simply choose the heater temperature.

Barely useable
The app itself is barely usable. The biggest problem is just connecting to the light (MJ-L165). For those unable to split their WiFi spectrum into a separate 2.4 GHz channel, you’re left with only using the light’s built in WiFi access point and setting your phone to use it. Hint: turn off private browsing and limit IP tracking to get the app to even see the light. It would be nice to have some guidance for this, but there aren’t even helpful error messages. Once you’re in, it’s all manual, since there’s no real internet connection and no way to download presets. Again, no guidance on setting the colors, you just have to play around. Be quick, though, because your phone will want to switch back to a real network connection.
