What's New in Syncro

4.0.6

August 13, 2026

SwiftAir now runs every test type — wirelessly. In v3, only Normal and Repeat sprints could run over the SwiftAir radio; everything else fell back to WiFi or couldn't be selected. In v4, every test type runs wirelessly. Requires gate firmware Main 2.34 / LoRa 0.57 / Comms 1.35. Gates below that keep working exactly as they do now on the WiFi path — the app checks your fleet and picks the right mode, so mixed sites are safe. NEW • SpeedSprints, Freestyle, Agility and Decision tests over SwiftAir. Agility rolls a fresh path each run rather than opening with the same gate every time, and Decision records the left/right branch the athlete was actually sent to. • Out-and-back designs. A test that returns to a gate it already used now credits each crossing to the right visit, so distance keeps counting up through the return leg instead of resetting. • Two-stage start. Gates arm and hold — lit, but not counting — until you press START, so the go-signal and the timing reference are the same instant. In a repeat set you're asked once, not once per rep. • Steady start. The red-yellow-green sequence now runs on the gate itself, so there's no lag between the athlete settling and the go signal. The two-second hold is now two seconds of actually holding the beam, so stepping in late no longer shortens it. • Reaction start, timed from the start gate's siren — the instant the athlete actually reacts to — so it's a true reaction time no matter which gate the iPad is connected to. • Simulate design. Run a complete timed test with no hardware from the SwiftAir setup screen — handy for checking a design before a session or walking new staff through one. IMPROVED • Automatic gate assignment now only places a gate on a position it can actually serve. Before, a gate could be assigned somewhere it couldn't do the job and nothing looked wrong until the results did. • The manual gate list now offers MOVE gates for positions that don't need a sonic trigger, so an all-MOVE fleet can fill a plain start. • Firmware versions in the device list are now labelled and specific to the gate — "Main 2.34 · LoRa 0.57" and "Comms 1.35" — instead of one unlabelled string, and show only the components your gate has. • Gates on charge no longer offer a firmware update they don't need. • Alignment no longer runs during a live test. • Recovering from a dropped gate connection no longer needs an app restart.
