Why does it load so slow?
When it finally loads, it is a descent app. But the slow loading is eternally frustrating. You all need to do better.
Terrible App
This is easily the worst app on my phone. It takes forever to load and crashes at least half of the time I try to open it. It constantly signs me out of my account. Photo slide shows are basically unusable. I want to keep up on local news and I pay for a subscription, but this app makes it extremely difficult to actually read the journalism I’m paying to support.

Horrible execution
I have to delete the app and reload daily because I get notices that I can’t read articles that are subscriber only. I am a subscriber. Customer service has no suggestion to date beyond deleting the app and reloading. 😒
Wants Me to Resubscribe
I can’t access many news articles, I am asked to subscribe for access, even though I am subscribed and signed into my account. I have signed out, deleted and reloaded app, then signed back in several times to no avail. I have complained to Syracuse.com with no response or resolution. I am beginning to question the value of my subscription if I frequently can’t access new content.

The customer “support” suggestion is to remove and redownload the app EVERY TIME.

Buggy, terrible support
Subscribed through app. Lost access to subscription content out of the blue one day across all platforms. Customer service is in Mexico and provided no help whatsoever other than blaming Apple. Don’t subscribe to Syracuse.com; they don’t support their products. It’s basically a scam.
Update horrible
Whatever the new update and look is supposed to do , it failed miserably. It boots up with the side menu, half of the menu options have no content, and it freezes constantly. Selecting such menu items as obituaries or weather only comes up with “you have no articles for now”, and there is a a continuous advertisement banner across the bottom of the screen. If this skeleton of a local news app requires a subscription to get information that used to be free, at a cost higher than national news apps, then shame on them.

Difficult to navigate
Put the big banner ads back on the top of the screen and put the navigation back on the bottom. Can’t reach the button to go back with my thumb.

I can get everything I want from my tv. Why would I add $10/mo to my already high bills. It doesn’t make sense. Bye!
Paywall nonsense
Remember when you could read for free? Recall posts that were 2-3 sentences long and full of grammatical errors that were not updated? Its been a few years and now they require you pay for most of the content. The few articles worth reading aren’t worth paying for. Same writing issues exist.

Never worked, no tech support, cancelled it
Disappointing because there is decent content, Syracuse Orange basketball and local area news and events. So I became a subscriber for a couple years and I frequently was not allowed access to subscriber content. After repeated requests for assistance with no response/results I cancelled it. No great loss as I get just as good Syracuse Orange sports news from Troy Nunes Magician for free.

Great content - banner ads make it unusable
Love the app but blinking ads major it unusable. Yes it gets my attention. No you cannot turn them off.
Could you add a few more invasive ads, please?
I don’t think this app has enough ads and paywalls. Maybe you could add a few more, just so that when I’m reading one of the 2 free access ads, they pop up and interrupt my attempt at finding news.

Endless hours of FRUSTRATION!
Pay for a subscription then be constantly hounded for your login and password and then get error messages even though you saved the info and you’re sure it’s correct. Go around in circles for hours. Frequently crashes. App design matches the level of journalism with typos and spelling and grammar errors galore.. and of course filthy, trashy clickbait ads. Apple, you are equally responsible for allowing this abomination!
