Table8welds

Useful for the preliminary sizing of fillet welds, Table8welds is an engineering calculator app that computes the initial fillet weld size for typical welding patterns used in steel construction. After providing the input parameters (design method, weld strength, weld pattern, required load and weld dimensions), coefficients C and C1 are determined based on industry standard reference tables. The initial fillet weld size, Dmin, is then calculated and expressed as the minimum number of sixteenths of an inch required. The calculations performed by the Table8welds app are based on the Instantaneous Center of Rotation Method. For practicality, the weld dimension, L, is limited to a minimum value 1 inch and a maximum value of 100 inches. The required force, Pu or Pa, is limited to a range between 1 and +9,999 kips. The tables used by the app to determine the Coefficient, C, for Eccentrically Loaded Weld Groups are available for reference and manual verification by the user.
