Do Not Buy

Don’t buy Tablo device on Amazon. Despite it being TabloTV storefront they won’t honor the warranty when in dies in six months.

Needs a Whole Lot of Work

Had to download today. This is so basic it’s terrible. The old app has so much more functionality. The old app is much better organized in every aspect.

The library on the new is absolutely useless. It’s a disorganized mess!!!!!!!

You have to start issuing refunds; or fix detrimental bugs

Bugs within your UI leave your product unusable. These are introduced after an update. An update, conveniently after most could return the product. The Apple TV app will not play CBS NBC or ABC, but we’ll play every single channel coming over the airways. These channels all work on a mobile device, but not via the Apple TV app. Furthermore there’s a scrolling bug within the UI where an order to scroll vertically up and down through the TV show shows and listings your phone. You have to scroll right or left before you can scroll up or down thus exiting the bug.

You have to fix your product so it works the way you advertised or the lawsuits will be following.

Don’t bother

Don’t bother with this junk. Great idea, but just doesn’t work. App on Apple TV crashes constantly.

Buggy

On iPad the guide is stuck in portrait mode causing you to constantly rotate the pad. Channel guide lacks information on 3 of my 12 channels. Support is unresponsive. Support is unresponsive concerning auto rotate mode.

Works fair on Apple TV HD hardware but…

Works fair on my Apple TV HD, some staccatoing still.
But other than that product works as advertised.
Recent firmware fixed audio playback on Roku devices.
If you could work out that software/hardware problem that would be good.
Also would be nice to have a local channel only toggle mode just like it does when there’s no Internet, I’m not interested in the other Internet channels.
Thanks

Also looking for a place to submit channel guide mismatch, where is that? Hero’s and icons doesn’t show any channel guide, channels without a guide cannot be added to favorites or recorded, please fix.

Also need ability to view on local desktop browser, not everyone owns an Apple TV or Roku, that’s unseen extra cost for your device.

How do I reboot the device from my couch, I had to physically go up to the attic and unplug and plug in the device, there should be a restart option from the software

Not a fan

If I could give it a zero I would. The app works on several devices but it doesn’t work on my new iPad Air. It doesn’t recognize my Tablo account information and their support is awful. I gave up. The frustration wasn’t worth getting the app to work on my new iPad.

Continuous downslide

Why is it that the Legacy app is still more stable and easier to use than the one being forced down our throats? I won’t go into how features have been stolen from the original promise of this product that we all paid for and just concentrate on this latest pile of garbage. This app crashes constantly. You can never rewind any show without going all the way back to the beginning and the MOST annoying part of using it on an iPad, is that the main menus flip back to portrait view and then back to landscape when you watch live. What the heck?! Are the people writing the code for this mess working on their first project after leaving basic computer class. If you can’t program something as simple as landscape/portrait, then I think the rest of the app is clearly over your head. Please hand it off to someone who is capable of doing the job.

Problems with legacy Tablos

I have spent hours with support trying to connect this app to my legacy Tablo. Apparently its network protocols are very different from the original app. Finally gave up and deleted it even though the old app is no longer supported.

Pretty useless on an iPad

The interface to select content (live or recorded) ignores device orientation. Makes it pretty useless when it is used on an iPad that is using an Apple keyboard (or any o the many keyboards that set up the iPad for landscape access). The old version respected orientation so I could use it easily in the default orientation. The actual videos respect orientation, but the control interfaces ignore it. The interface is much more cluttered than it was in the previous version, with adds for shows taking up most of the screen when I come into it. I preferred the list of categories to choose I wanted to got to (Live, Recordings, etc.) when I came in instead of a screen of adds for content.

Taco sucks!

This is the worst device ever created. Whoever created it doesn’t know how to create or how to test to see if it even works! Total rip-off!! Scammers!!

No landscape?

This app used to work in landscape. Now it’s stuck in portrait when in the menus. Landscape works when watching something. Not cool to have to flip my device when navigating menus.

Apple TV with HomePod

The latest update does not work with an Apple TV using HomePod speakers. The OTA channels flutter. The Tablo community has found a solution that uses the tv speakers only without the HomePod speakers. Software needs to be updated. Didn’t buy HomePod speakers to have to utilize tv speakers. Would not recommend if you are an Apple user.

Unreliable

An Apple update in April 2026 killed audio for Tablo app for Apple devices. Numerous emails with Tablo support resulted in their blaming Apple. Tablo advised that a “workaround” would help, but the workaround was unsuccessful. Eventually the communications ended with Tablo’s declaring that they knew about the problem, and that they had no plan to fix their software. After three months they finally fixed it. Despite the recent fix, the app continues to crash many times every day. Also, its cache must be manually cleared periodically. For AppleTV, the only way to do that is to delete the app and then reinstall. Scripps should be ashamed.

They broke it again!

Apple and/or this developer seems to be filtering bad reviews!

What is wrong with you people? This is why AI is replacing your jobs because you people I think purposely break things just so that you can fix them again in order to have a job.

Once again, I am talking about a simple little thing that you fixed before and you broke again and you fixed again and you broke again. How hard is it to keep landscape on iPad instead of portrait which is for iPhone it boggles my mind

Buggy

It shows the guide and firmware but you can't watch tv at all.

Bad update for Ipad

App now defaults to portrait view. Not good when using the Ipad. Too bad this update didnt add the function of updating settings (Record a tv show ) remotely. That ability as been asked for , for quite some time.

Trash

Don’t waste your money.

Not a Ipad app.

Not a IPad application. It’s a phone with horrible image crop to fit the IPad. Legacy app work fine.

Playback failed: cannot decode

Can’t watch most channels on my iPhone.
