About

Every rope on the board wants out. You decide which way it goes. Tail Out is a quiet logic puzzle about pulling things free. Drop an arrow on the end of a rope and the rope threads out head first, following the direction you gave it — every cell behind it stepping into the one in front. Clear the board and the level is solved. It sounds simple because it is. Then the board fills up, and the order starts to matter. HOW TO PLAY • Drag an arrow onto the end of a rope. • The rope leaves head first, the way the arrow points. • Ropes block ropes. Arrows waiting on the board block them too. • Clear every rope with the arrows you were given. An end takes an arrow from three sides — the only direction it refuses is back into its own body. So there is nearly always another way out. Finding the order is the whole puzzle. WHEN YOU GET STUCK • Undo — step back through your moves, as far as you like. • Hint — one rope and one arrow light up. You still play the move. • Replace — the arrows are dealt again, and the board can always be finished afterwards. • Eraser — take a rope and its arrow off together. Boosters never solve the level for you. They give you a board worth thinking about again. MADE TO BE THOUGHT ABOUT • No timer. Take an hour on one board if you want to. • Hand-made levels, each one checked by a solver — you will never be handed a board that cannot be cleared. • Paper and ink: a white board, grey lattice dots, black rope. Nothing blinking for attention. • Plays offline, one hand, anywhere. A puzzle where the answer was always there and you just had not seen it yet — that is the feeling this game is built around. No luck, no hidden information, no move you could not have worked out. Pull one rope. Then the next one.
