Totally useless, pet will died if you don’t subscribe

1. It was paid that included tracking steps and feeding the app without limits (it has always been unlimited feeding ) but it was so badly designed that after a few hour it won’t let your buy more food
2. Now with subscription it offers the same that when the app was paid
4. As paid app it didn’t tracks steps accurately and would not allow you to buy food on store, now as a user who purchased this app i cant feed the pet if I don’t subscribe on a monthly basis

So either as paid app or paid app plus subscription , the app doesnt track steps accurately, and switching to subscription and not allowing previous user who bought this app using seems like a Scam

Hi, we’re really sorry for the frustration, we understand how this experience can feel unfair, especially for early users. We’ve made changes to the app over time to keep improving it and support ongoing updates, but we absolutely agree that this should never negatively impact users who previously purchased the app. Regarding step tracking and feeding limits, we’re actively working on improving accuracy and balance so the experience feels fair and enjoyable for everyone. Your feedback is very important and helps us improve the app.

Tamewatch Is Unusable Without a Subscription

I purchased this app when it was offered as a paid, one-time purchase. In my experience, when I buy an app with a single upfront fee, that purchase includes access to existing features and future updates. Many developers also choose to respect early adopters by maintaining full or lifetime access when an app later transitions to a subscription model, so the changes in this app were unexpected.

When I originally bought the app, the core concept was that steps would be tracked and converted into food so the pet could be fed and kept alive. On the first day, this worked briefly, as the app tracked steps and allowed food to be purchased from the store. However, there was a bug where, after a few hours, it was no longer possible to buy anything from the store even though steps were still being tracked. As a result, the pet would eventually die and be replaced by a grave. This issue existed at the time and was never resolved then.

If this bug has been fixed in later updates, that would simply mean the app is now functioning as it was originally designed and sold to work: tracking steps, converting them into food, and allowing the pet to be fed without limitation to keep it alive and happy. That functionality was the core value of the paid app.

After the transition to a subscription model, features that already existed before are now locked behind a paywall, which significantly changes how the app can be used. Without an active subscription, steps may still be tracked, but they cannot be used to buy items from the store, feeding the pet is not possible, and the pet will inevitably die and be replaced by a grave. In practice, this leaves very limited interaction, essentially just watching the pet’s animations.

A more balanced approach would have been to offer lifetime access to early adopters, or at least preserve lifetime access to all features that were already included at the time of purchase. New additions introduced after the move to subscriptions, such as the on-screen pet messages, could reasonably remain optional and tied to the subscription for users who choose them. This would have respected existing customers while still supporting ongoing development.

Instead, early adopters are left with an app where, without subscribing, the pet can barely do more than move its face, cannot be fed, and is ultimately destined to die. This represents a major change from what was originally purchased and greatly reduces the usefulness of the app.

Additionally, step tracking has been inconsistent, feeding interactions have been unreliable, and the pet frequently dies despite regular use. These issues were present even before the subscription change. Recent updates and the new on-screen messages have also made the experience less enjoyable rather than improved.

Overall, the app feels very different from when it was originally purchased, and in its current state it no longer provides enough value for me to continue using, so I decided to delete it.

Update – Feb 12, 2026

Luís Fernando Santos Corrêa da Silva was the last person responsible for handling Tamewatch. When I originally purchased the app, it included all features unlocked. Later, the developers switched it to a subscription model, and now I can’t even use what I already paid for.

Because of this, I cannot recommend either the app or the developer. This change feels very uncaring and disrespectful toward users who supported the app early on, and honestly it makes me feel scammed.

I remember he offered me codes for three months, but since I had already purchased the lifetime version with everything unlocked, that offer felt very disrespectful.

Additionally, after the update, some new features were added that actually make the app look worse, and there are still bugs that haven’t been fixed.

Bad move of the company forcing people to suscribe when they once paid for the app

The app doesn't track steps accurately, doesn't allow you to feed the pet and on top of that besides having already paid for this app they are forcing me to paid a subscription I can't even feed the pet anymore if I don’t pay. It’s quite pointless to keep this app so I will delete it.
As all these new changes seems greedy to me when everything was limitless just before they switch to susncripyion. Besides the app was always a paid app.
Also the new messages at the bottom are disturbing

Loved it at 1st, until the daily step requirement ruined everything

The problem of this app is that it force you to repeat yesterday’s steps in order to buy food/items the next day. Some days you walk more, some days less. The app mechanics is discouraging. If one day I go to marathon and make 1 million steps you can expect and take yesterday maximum step as the baseline for the next day in order to buy food , this is the cause why the pet eventually dies in less than 1 full day.
This app is suppose to motivate you, not to trap you.

Many apps simply:
• Use steps as a currency
• Let you buy food even if you walked less today
• Don’t penalize you or kill the pet
• Don’t increase daily requirements automatically

The way it is designed is not very motivating for kids nor adults

Developer hasn’t being able to fix this and there is no customer support email

The app is cute but doesn’t work

As for now, the app doesn’t work, It tracks steps but with 3000 steps and in less than 12 hours you cannot buy food so eventually in less than 48 hours, the pet die.

The app tracks steps shows the steps for example 3500 and then 0 and then changes to 3500 and doesn’t allow you to buy food because it says “ take a walk, you don’t have enough steps to purchase food.

There seems to be a very serious bug with this app to the point that is no longer enjoyable.

App was updated yesterday November 9 , and still doesn’t work

The app is cute ..

The little pet is cute but .. the app is not working correctly lately it doesn’t track the steps and can’t fee my pet

Doesn’t work , my steps equal zero points for snack

The pet dies because even if I have 2000 steps the app will tell me Take a walk ! You don’t have enough steps to purchase this food . A tea costs 100 and I have 2000 .
I hate to see my pet dying it’s horrible and the developer doesn’t fix this there is no one to reach out
