Needs Work!

This is a review of the Tampa Bay Lightning app for AppleTV. This a ia decent first attempt at an app, however on the AppleTV version, when you try to watch highlights, it’s a TERRIBLE experience. Why? When yo click on a highlight clip, what plays is about the last 5-8 seconds of the clip. You totally miss the highlight!

Also, the next highlight in the queue comes up and blocks the view on screen. It looks to me like the developer never played the clips on this version of the app. Surely, if they had, they would not let it get published!

The next issue is that when you start the app, a message comes up stating that an update to version 1.2.8 is available in the APP store. That version is NOT available by clicking on the link labeled “UPDATE”. Again really quality control on the developers part!

Please fix these things!

It’s fine but …

… it’d be five stars if the TV stream offered Dave Mishkin’s and Phil Esposito’s radio broadcast as alternate audio (on all platforms, but especially the tv app).

doesn’t work right on roku

no problems on my phone and most of my tvs, but it refuses to stream games on my roku tv. paid for a whole years worth of games by subscription and it’s a pretty crumby experience.

This should be illegal

You require people to use this apps for tickets, but the app has crashing problems. This is not a one time occurrence. Both the app and my phone are up-to-date.

Clunky

Streaming on the app is very clunky. Fast forwarding and rewinding is a difficult challenge every time. The app will crash and need to be restarted at least twice during each game that I’ve watched with my subscription. Most smart tvs don’t have access to this app so I’m forced to cast/airplay it to my tv. It would be easier to watch my hometown team on a different more popular app than to watch the Bolts regularly on this one.

Horrible Streaming App

The app is just awful. I’ve had to at for it three times in the same year and comically inconsistent with connecting with AirPlay to any other device. Avoid at all cost.

Can’t use Ticketmaster account

Tells me I can use my Ticketmaster account. I log in. When it asks me to agree with messages and promotions, it gets an error and says to try again. Now I can’t get to my tickets I bought

App is good but streaming the game needs work

Not thrilled with the app ever since they migrated the games over. I paid full price for the season pass and between games on ESPN and blacked out games I’ve only been able to watch 3 on the app. On top of that it doesn’t remember your credentials even if you’re signed in and forces you to sign in and get a verification code each time. At this point you’re better off streaming the game elsewhere until it’s fixed.

Almost There

Happy to have a dedicated app and not have to flip around between fox sports sun, Bally, and fanduel.
However, the app asks if you like the app, if you say yes, it closes out the game and opens up App Store.
That was quite frustrating to then have to restart the app in order to continue watching a live game.
My request would be a 15 second rewind and 15 second fast forward added to the Apple TV remote. That way you can easily blip forward or backward.

Streaming not good, very glitchy

We paid for the TV App to steam the games and it is very glitchy and goes out sometimes. Also the commercials go black on breaks, and there is just volume.

Reinstall before each game

App only works for a single game. So have to delete app and data; then reinstall each game - broadcast to have it work. Horrible

Only For iOS 17 and higher?

My phone isn’t capable of iOS 17 therefore I can’t access my tickets. Very disappointed and I don’t want to have to buy a new phone just for the Lightning app.

Great streaming

Experience streaming games is much better than FanDuel. Really like that I can watch games and access my tickets in one app

Great app

Good app with everything I need!

Great UI

Love this app! Super easy to find & use my discounts. I even keep it in my main app bar on my phone.

Great app!

Love this app, it is so easy to watch games and cheer on the bolts! I can use my B4L discount so well!

Bad stream

On Apple TV pic all blurry. Waste of $70

The worst ripoff

Do NOT BUY. It’s a joke. All you can do is watch pregame. App support is non existent. Shame

Terrible Streaming

The app itself is good for checking up on the team, but now that they switched to ScrippsSports enforce you to stream it through the app. It is absolutely terrible. Some of the worst streaming I’ve ever experienced.
Constantly says out of area, even though I’m not, and then when you open it in Safari, it works, commercials are extraordinarily loud between plays and intermission, app constantly stop streaming it has to be reset.
I'm subscribing to another platform and will be contacting for my money back on the subscription.
Also the "$66" subscription actually charges $74.

VERY unsatisfied!

AppleTV version is horrible

Why crop the broadcast to half the size of my tv?
