Hijacks my Mic
I hate this new update. The app keeps high jacking my mic and will freeze a FT call on screen. I’ve had to restart my phone for it to release the mic.
Newest update is terrible
Before the latest update at the end of May 2026, this app was amazing. The app no longer seems to be user-friendly, continuously running in the background draining battery, if there is a way to go back to the previous version of this app that would be incredible. Please consider updating this app to old settings, thank you.

Great asset to our departments.
Works great. From what I’ve seen audio issues some speak of are due to specific device settings needing some adjustment on the user end. Only thing I would like to see is the CAD alerts / Notifications and information integrated directly into the app rather than a separate text message. Would also be neat if the hypothetical CAD alert in app was able to automatically start playing/ reading the CAD information to you rather than having to click play. Of course make user settings that can be toggled off and on as some may not want that.

Great idea
Works when you have phone service but if towers are down you can’t count on this not working. I suggest if using to have a starlink system in play or have actual radios
Radio Traffic Choppy
The radio traffic is choppy when there is a page sent out. I once heard all radio traffic but now I don’t which only 2 out of 10 firefighters on my department can hear all radio traffic from other agencies. I do not hear radio traffic, when there is a page, it cuts out, I go to play back what was paged and its even cut out from there. I have contacted the 911 board that sets it up and they don’t know what the problem is. I can be in the 911 dispatch center under our repeater and it will still cut out. I am unsure if its the app connecting to the repeater problem or if its on my side but multiple firefighters on my department and some from other agencies says they are experiencing the same issue. It worked great at the beginning when I first got logged on but its been going down hill. For a example, my department got a page today and i did not even received a notification nor traffic when out. I got a text from another agency about it, so I went to play back and it was very choppy. Concerning when I need to know all details and location of the call.

App is really improving
This app has really improved over the last couple of years. We used to not use it because there was issues. Now most of our dept uses it. Wish it worked on the Apple Watch.
Fantastic App volume control wonky
App works wonderfully on iOS except the phone seems as to lose control of the ability to control the volume. It’ll be cranked with no ability to turn it down unless you close the app and reopen it then it goes to like half volume. Seems to be iOS 18 related
Terrible radio integration!
Non-radio transmissions seem to work fine, but the radio integration is terrible. Dispatch and units using mobile or handheld radios can be heard just fine, but transmissions from the app to the radio sound terrible. Not even worth using when no one can understand what you’re saying, not to mention the deafening feedback every time you key up. Definitely would not trust my life to this app.

You get Tones and then you’re left wondering what the call is actually about…… great help to the community, if you want them dead.
Goes Where We Go
As a First Responder I really like the ability to stay connected with my agency where my radio can’t. I can now take my radio anywhere I go. I can use Tango Tango on WiFi or anywhere I have a cellular signal. I can be in a hardened building or in another State and I can still use my radio using the Tango Tango App. Tango Tango removes the challenges that distance and buildings place on our radios system while we are on duty serving our community.

Solid communications tool
The Tango Tango app has greatly improved the communications capabilities of our company. For push to talk and messaging in a secure and private workgroup, it’s the best we’ve used.
Used to be a good tool
When first released, this app was a game changer. It was like having a handheld radio that would work anywhere you had a cell signal. It is now essentially useless except for the ability to playback audio of traffic that has been recorded. Bring back the ability to monitor a channel continuously in the background and it’s a 5 star app again.

Update boot out
Is it just me or is the updates that continue to happen monthly keeps kicking people out or saying we don’t have access when we were good before the update?
New version isn’t good.
I would say 75% of the communications at our PD come through, but it’s the 25% that worry me. I worry about the reliability of this app for use with first responders.
Tango Tango is fake news
I have had this app on my phone for 4 years and use it on a near-constant basis. My ability to Tango has not been improved by this app. 0/10 would not recommend.
RUDE SUPPORT
Was told to get this app by a friend, but it wouldn’t work. Received one of the rudest EMAILS ever to inform me that this is not an open app. I worked help desk for years and if I sent an email like that I would have been booted.
New Version is a mess
We had been using this as a solution for our security and safety teams. It was a workable solution. Until the new version was released. Many of the capabilities are in Beta. Others don’t function well and the consensus among the entire team is to find another solution. User friendly and basic functionality should be first priority and they are not

Not a fan
Installed the new version and the volume is terrible. I also have another Department on mine as well. No playback on calls that I’ve found.
