Perfect for my needs

This is perfect for my needs. I can enter any medication (Valium and THC in my case) develop a gradual taper plan using principles of the Ashton Manual, log my results, log my symptoms, and change course if needed. So far I have tapered off of 31.6 mg of Valium after 33 years of hearing I have a chemical imbalance. I don’t. I was simply a career patient for a doctor. This app gives me agency without having to keep track on a blank piece of paper. Hal A. Loots

Can’t create a plan

AI gets stuck trying to create a plan. Even after buying the subscription it can’t do the most basic task.

Response from developer

Please send us an email at support@usetaper.app if you have feedback or need support. We often respond within 24 hours with a solution. App Store reviews take several days to be approved and we frequently resolve issues before we see them. I believe that is the case here. Please restart your app, press "Clear" in the chat, and try again. ❤️

thank you

Helps my lifestyle

I feel as if my life has greatly improved after finding this app that was recommended to me by a good friend at work who has been using it for about a year they said. They showed me how it had made improvements in their life day to day since we have similar life needs and it made me want to give it a shot. So far i have no complaints and really enjoy the ease of access and use throughout the day.

FINALLY FOUND an App that does it RIGHT!!!!

Honestly been on the hunt for something like this!! I’ve been saying this for a while now, that someone should develop an app or website to help people Taper down on medical/recreational dosages. This app definitely hits the nail on the hammer! The user friendliness, the app setup, the ease and tranquility of how it all comes together to help you come up with a plan and monitor your usage. Overall i give it an 11/10!!

DONT LET COMPETITORS FOOL YOU

I can’t tell you how amazing this app has been to apply to my every day life. Whoever made this app clearly, understands substance dependency and the neurology behind managing habits. There are WAY TOO MANY copy cats of this app so beware of them. This is the legit tapering app hands down and not just some Chinese company trying to rip off the idea.

Really helps

Taper keeps me aware of the value of my progress and helps me stick with the doses. Looking at what I got through already, I don’t want to backtrack. I know where I am going and how long it will take. That’s worth so much to me.

Literally a life saver

Just when I couldn’t kick some unhealthy habits, I came across the official TAPER app. Don’t be fooled by competitors. This thing definitely works by design. Cheers 🤘🏼

Feels like it was made by someone who truly cares

You can tell it was made by someone who actually cares and understands how hard tapering can be. Nothing feels rushed or generic. At the same time, it’s very clearly built by someone who knows what they’re doing. The design is calming, straightforward, and effortless to use.

This app honestly meant more to me than I expected. Taper deals with something that’s really personal and vulnerable. It doesn’t feel like an app trying to collect data or push features. It feels like someone built the thing they wished they had and shared it.

Finally !

This app has been a huge help in my Xanax taper. It keeps me on track, lets me log symptoms, and makes the process feel manageable instead of overwhelming. I’m in week two and feel more confident than ever about finally getting off a medication that caused serious harm in my life. A genuinely supportive tool when used alongside medical care.

New update turns it into paid only

I was using this for free for the last six weeks or so and it was very helpful. All of a sudden, the app now updates and becomes pay only to log doses at all? I have a lot of important data in here.

Response from developer

Dose logging has always been free and remains free. What you likely encountered was a brief test where the optional “reason” selection was gated, but doses could still be logged using “Skip & Save.” Please update to the latest version. Logging doses, check-ins, reminders, and viewing your data are all free. Taper does not use accounts or cloud storage, so if you delete the app, your data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered. To prevent this, use "Backup & Restore" in the main menu to create an encrypted backup that can be restored on any device with Taper. If you have questions, you can reach me at support@usetaper.app

SSRI taper

Taper helped me get of the SSRI I was on for over a year that was causing me major issues. Made it easy for me and was super simple to use

Horrible

Don’t waste your time on this app. There is no free version, so after you give them all your medical info it then requests you pay them before even showing a plan to get off your meds. It says it doesn’t offer medical advice, but it did to me, and if I had followed it, I could’ve died or gotten extremely sick. Work with your doctor or come up with your own plan to get off your meds; don’t listen to the AI created apps like this who just collect your personal information and money. Much, much better apps out there to follow your plan. This app shouldn’t even be legal.

This review contains several inaccuracies we'd like to address: (1) All your medical data stays on your device by design. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal health information. (2) The app shows common tapering approaches, designed to be used in accordance with a doctor's prescribed plan. (3) We have explicit warnings about the dangers of unsupervised tapering in the second step of onboarding.Taper was created by someone who went through withdrawals themselves, under consultation of a pharmacist, and is designed to help others taper off medications with the guidance of a doctor. It is not AI-generated and has been in development for over a year.Your claim that following this app "could've" resulted in death or extreme sickness is concerning. Our default taper settings are drawn from medical literature. For medications outside known drug classes, we default to a conservative 15-month, 10% hyperbolic taper. If you entered custom settings that produced a dangerous plan, please contact support@usetaper.app with details so we can investigate.

Very Nice

I like that it is private, I also like it is open ended. You have no idea how long it will take you to quit something the Dr has had you on for 25 years. So far very impressive, thank you !

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing this. Privacy and flexibility were core goals when I built Taper, because everyone’s timeline is different and there’s no single right pace. I’m really glad it’s been useful for you so far, and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.

I thought I could do this on my own

This app is just what I need. Now I can make a plan to stop taking a medication that I’ve been on for many years. I’ve tried tracking it on paper and figuring out what I’ve done week to week, but that has never worked. I’d like the charts. Now I will have a visual of how I’m doing and not just a written plan.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I built Taper for exactly this reason, so people don’t have to rely on paper, memory, or guesswork. I’m really glad the visuals and tracking are helping you, and I wish you the very best as you continue.

Good App but needs a few more features

So far I like how simple this works and how theres not much in between to take away effectiveness of logging. So using it I noticed that I missed logging dose yesterday and there’s no way to go back to a previous day to add the correct qty. I would like to be able to edit past entries or add to past days. Also the chart is nice but I would also like to see alternates to view the data that I can toggle between. Hopefully these are something you guys can do.

I've pushed an update with the ability to add/edit past entries! Also exploring better ways to view the chart data, so that's coming soon. Glad you’re finding the app useful so far. Feel free to send any other feedback to hello@usetaper.app I’d love to hear it!

Is currently helping me with my Ritalin dependency
