Excellent service

I have interpreted with this app since 2021 and it’s excellent. They quickly fix any bugs with the app and they put us in contact with people around the world that need help

Could not recommend more hughly!

This app is a must have for anyone doing grassroots migrant justice work. Quick and good quality translation over the phone and in writing makes our work so much better. Thank you to the makers of the app!

Useful app - connecting with on demand translators

Used to be functional

App used to be functional. They recently updated the call functions and it’s unusable even after having updated my phone and the app.

A Lifesaver❣️

This app enabled us to understand medical concerns of the refugee family we were co-sponsoring. It also enabled our conversations for growing our relationships and responding: giving family agency! Once we upgraded, the chance to connect with interpreter and talk via phone to our new friends, it felt like a miracle! No more 20 mile drives to gain interpreter use!!! We LOVE this app and the interpreters we have had and share with highest recommendation.

An invaluable app

There have been two eras in my life. The first, before Tarjimly BT, the other, post-Tarjimly PT. Having used the app daily to communicate with people across North Africa I could not imagine working without the help of Tarjimly and the volunteer translators on the app.

Sign in trouble

I was unable to even sign up in the app. No matter what option I tried or how many times I tried it always can back with an error.

Lifesaver

volunteer translators

I don’t like how they treat volunteers with complete unclarity. They can keep confidentiality while preserving the translator’s right to see the hours log for the conversations they worked on.
Also, the app for more than a week was showing a notice there will be a slow down in receiving translation requests due to a technical problem, YET there was no email or any communication to update translators.

Thanks for your feedback, that's a great idea about adding logs of previous sessions for interpreters into the app. Right now you're able to see the number of sessions, but there is no information on the languages or length of sessions, so we will look into adding that. You're right, when we had an issue we only notified the translators and users via the app. That's something we can improve next time, by making sure to communicate with our translators via email.

App issues

I continue to have issues with the app which redirects me to change my email, making me unable to use the app. I have re installed it several times and I continue having the same issue. I work with a Refugee Resettlement Program and this app is a great resource. If I was only able to have this issue fixed would be great!!!

Important for immigrants

Tarjimly is SO very important in our volunteer work with an immigrant family, who must feel like they have traveled to Mars! Communication with health care providers, apartment rentals, banking needs - all these things require Tarjimly. When the app has glitches, and doesn’t work, it’s terrible.

Incredible

I joined Tarjimly a few days ago and had my first translation session today. Everything was smooth from beginning to end and I experienced the great impact 8 minutes of translation could have on someone’s asylum.
Hope I can do it as often as possible!

Great app but needs some work

Original 2/22/2022 Translators write and interpreters speak. This app pretty much calls everyone a translator and it’s a bit cringe considering the fact that this is supposed to be professional app.

Update: Thank you for your reply. Thanks for the explanation. I just thought it was a bit off but understands now. That’s why I gave a 5 star rating regardless. Most people don’t even know the difference so it’s probably more user friendly for now

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We found that sometimes we don't have space to always write "translators and interpreters", so we often use just use "translators" to be more concise. You are right though that it's not accurate, and we try to use the right terminology when it's needed.

Not working

Not sure if the app is not accepting new users but it says I have to verify my email but I don’t receive any emails to do so. I’ve contacted the support team - no response.
