my projects thank you
my TODOs are everywhere. thrown around random documents or "temporary" files. despite desperately needing to, in no world was i ever going to take the time to extract them to a proper task or project management app.
i've dabbled in some task plugins to collect them all before, but i also greatly value good UX and pretty UIs, and unfortunately, all-but-one case couldn't meet my expectations without heavy manual customization. and the one that did, didn't work well on mobile.
i don't have to compromise anymore. especially not on mobile. 😤 and it works well enough that i've transferred all of my non-project reminders over to it as well.
dev seems to be pretty responsive, too, so that's always a huge plus.
the only issue i've encountered is one i was expecting and the dev spelled out up front anyway: sometimes you need to open obsidian to sync everything. it happened two times before, but hasn't since i setup an automation to open obsidian daily. i'm not concerned.
tl;dr it gives a lot of the power and customizability of a task management plugin without the manual work to setup good UX and UI

Perfect
I use the TaskNotes plugin, and this app is perfectly compatible with my setup. Premium is cheap and really worth it. Really nothing wrong with it in any way imo, I wish the best for its continued growth
Well executed addition to Obsidian
Task Forge is nicely done and has become my primary todo and calendar application. The author is responsive and the app clearly has potential to be a big player in the organizational management field. If you are using Obsidian this is worth evaluating. If you are using tasks in Obsidian this is pretty much essential. Strongly recommended.

Incredible for organizing simple or complex workflows with ChatGPT or Claude
This app may seem intimidating at first given the large number of features, so I recommend starting with the single document view.
After using this for several weeks, it has massively simplified my life. Before I would use Google Calendar as my todo list and constantly need to move events/tasks. But now I can copy and paste all the tasks from obsidian onto an LLM like Claude that is connected to Google Calendar, so it can reason about it and make changes and schedule events. Highly recommended!

Great app… in a vacuum.
Pros:
good features, great design, ease of use(kinda), reasonable price point, does what is advertised!
Cons:
poor performance, kinda buggy (especially with a large vault. Even excluding 95% of the files didn’t help. Also, if you have existing tasks that aren’t using any plugins, GOOD LUCK, because the only way to kind of make it work for you is to use the custom lists, which are behind the paywall. That alone isn’t enough of an issue to justify the poor review. It’s moreso a combination of all of them. Most importantly, I don’t want to finish going through the trouble of setting it up for my workflow during the free trial, only to pay for the software and still have to wait an abysmally long time just to do anything in the app. I also have some features that if they were added and the performance was improved, I would be more than willing to pay for the full version of the app.
TL;DR: the poor performance (which I think might be due to a large file count) severely outweighs any benefits for me.

Response from developer
Hey Chris - I appreciate you checking out TaskForge and I'm sorry about the issues you're having with it. I'm actually working on a really large update focused on performance in the next app release. I'd love for you to beta test it if you're interested to see how it works for your vault. If you're interested, you can reach me at azhar@taskforge.md In general though, I'm always looking for ways to improve my app so I appreciate the feedback
Really well done
I’ve finally found the tool that naturally works the way I want to. Details of my tasks are stored with my notes making them searchable with the rest of my history. No more remembering whether it was a note or a todo!
Beyond that the UI is gorgeous and well thought out! Cudos to the developer.
If you already use Obsidian, TaskForge is a no brainer.

Супер
Не многими задачниками успел попользоваться, но этим с удовольствием буду пользоваться. Шикарная инструкция, удобная реализация. Спасибо
Fantastic to have tasks in vault and manage with TaskForge
Very powerful to have tasks in my obsidian vault but manage them from taskforge on my mac, ipad, and iphone. I love having my vault as the source of truth. I can organize daily tasks as well as project tasks. works great. I sync with Syncthing and Synctrain IOS. I use rclone to back up my vault to S3. TaskForge keeps coming out with new features.

GOAT task app
To be blunt, my executive function is busted and my working memory is chopped; I’m a tireless seeker of better productivity tech.
TaskForge (with or without obsidian) is the single most intuitive and innovative productivity engine I’ve found. Leaving public reviews is rare for me—my commitment issues go hard—yet I can’t recommend TaskForge enough.
I know of no other app where a messy pile of natural language text can be tweaked in a basic obsidian note (even better, it takes seconds to have ChatGPT “optimize my projects and tasks for TaskForge”), and you end up with dozens of tasks entered into a fail-proof task management system, including properties, tags, reminders, due dates etc. That’s amazing for my poor brain.
It’s not that this app is high-tech; it’s that it’s built around EXCELLENT DESIGN and elevated concepts.
This app is clearly a passion project of a highly adept systems designer. Easiest 5 stars in the task mgmt space ever 🏆🙏

Great app!
Money well spent. App works well, dev is responsive, and it has a one-time payment option. Very happy.
TaskForge just keeps getting better
I’ve used many good task managers in the past, but for someone steeped in the Apple ecosystem and Obsidian (the plain-text, local notes app), TaskForge is amazing. It has integrated flawlessly with my note-taking workflow while providing me with a highly flexible and customizable task management solution. The developer is passionate about his product, lightning fast responding to support questions and issues, and is pushing new features on a sustainable schedule. There are occasional bumps, but they are quickly addressed. The new calendar integration is exactly what I had been looking for, and the complete freedom to group and filter tasks by custom properties means you can adopt any task management system you please. No lock-in, highly un-opinionated … and it just keeps getting better.

Makes using Obsidian as a Task Manager actually viable
I could never make Obsidian work as a place to actually manage my tasks. Even with every view I could think of to mimic other task apps, it always felt clunky and I had trouble finding things I needed. This app brings all of that to the forefront. And now with the calendar support, it’s even better! I really can’t recommend this app enough.

Love it.
Super useful app, beautiful UI, incredible number of configuration options. The tight native integration for MacOS+iOS made this the missing piece for me to fully migrate my personal task lists off of cloud services. The dev has been super responsive to bug reports - responded same day and had a partial fix out in the next patch. What else could you ask for!

Appli super pratique, dev à l’écoute !
Pretty Sweet
I’ve only been using it a couple days so far but it’s sweet. It’s the missing link in Obsidian being useful for tasks.
widgets
No widgets without upgrading. Utterly ridiculous. Why bother making this app 'free' when everything requires upgrading to use? Zero stars.
One Day In
Great so far, I will likely spend the $40 for full access if I enjoy it as much a month from now
Very very very good
Such a great app - I love when developers take such care to create an experience like this. Works seamlessly with Obsidian. You need it!
So well done
The perfect link for Obsidian Tasks. Really well done and look forward to see it grow.
Great App but..
This is a fantastic app, but it’s a shame you can’t delete or edit the existing custom lists in the free version. This essentially makes the free version almost useless as the whole point for me is to organize and view my tasks. And I wish the purchase was not limited to apple devices.
