About

TaskNotes is a calm, capable task manager built around portable Markdown records. Capture work quickly, decide what matters today, and organise tasks without locking your information into one app. • Create, edit, complete, search, and reorder tasks • Plan with lists, boards, calendars, due dates, and scheduled dates • Set priorities, recurring tasks, reminders, and dependencies • Track time and attach images • Turn rough notes into selected tasks with Scratchpad • Choose system, light, or dark appearance • Inspect the Markdown record behind any task TaskNotes works with mdbase collections. Use a hosted collection or connect one kept on your computer; the same interface and task model apply either way. Your collection remains the authoritative home of your tasks, and each task stays a structured Markdown record you can use beyond TaskNotes. Reminders are delivered by mdbase, so TaskNotes does not need to stay open. Notification payloads contain no task titles, descriptions, paths, or record content. Learn more at tasknotes.dev.

What's New in TaskNotes

1.0.7

October 9, 2026

Changes since 1.0.6: • Reminder setup on iOS no longer hangs on Checking. Notification permission checks time out with a retry option, and Settings rechecks permissions after you authorise a collection or return to the app. • Collection names and locations load independently of task counts; if a collection summary can't be read you see an error with a retry option instead of the app staying on Opening. • Opening Scratchpad no longer creates a new current note each time on collections using newer mdbase versions, and Scratchpad notes can now be deleted. • A refreshed, more consistent colour palette with clearer accent, success and danger colours in light and dark themes. • Each view in navigation has its own icon, so views such as Today, Projects, Archive, Upcoming and Calendar are easier to tell apart. • Quieter task rows and Scratchpad, with lighter dividers.
