Bad. Really Bad

I’m wondering if this app has a whole new development team because this new version is *terrible*. The original app had its issues and wasn’t the most robust, but compared to this it was light years ahead. In this version basic functionality is either missing or much more convoluted and cumbersome to navigate. Makes no sense.

Why a ONE Version?

The club I manage for went from TeamSnap to TeamSnap One. I am no longer able to have profile pics of the players. I cannot add other parents for players. I cannot see phone numbers. I cannot create custom locations. It’s really a mess. To make it worse, I don’t see any improvements! It’s like another version that does less?

Major stepbackward vs old app

You cannot sync your calendar per each team separately. If you need to deal with multiple teams, this is a very important feature. Very disappointed

App kicked me out

This morning, I saw a message from our coach. When I went to go, read the message again, the app kicked me out. I can no longer see the message because I need a team code. I never had this problem with the previous version and I have used that for least 4 different teams.

Horrible

The new TeamSnap One is horrible. Very limited functionality. No email, no email reminders, no export of roster… I want to go back to classic. They obviously rushed the release of this product. Garbage.

Needs a lot of fixing

The old version was better. This version missing a lot of things and no email function.

Response from developer

Hi there, thank you for this feedback! Would you be open to a quick chat about how we could build this into the TeamSnap ONE platform? If so, would you mind sending me an email at caitlin.mcleod@teamsnap.com so we can connect? Thanks!

Useless

All the functionality that made TeamSnap useful for team managers has been removed. No assignments, no stats, no roster information beyond a name (no contact info), no availability table, no downloads, no pictures.

It’s not ready yet

Too many features from old teamsnap not available in this app. Example: divisional coordinators. Coaches need to have newer devices to download the app. And, if they don’t have a newer phone, they can’t manage their team from the website. Calendar changes flood the team chat.

Massive step backwards

We’ve been using TeamSnap for years, and while there were issues it was good for the basics. I was excited to check out this newer version, only to find that it has an extremely clumsy user interface and is missing much of the very important functionality that was available in TeamSnap. Hopefully the developers are working to enhance it quickly, because it is not at all useful as-is.

HORRIBLE replacement to the original app

The only thing I like about this app vs the original TeamSnap app is that you can post a schedule change with a note.

You can no longer do emails or bulletin posts or alerts. The only communication is the chat which our parents treat as a conversation only box. They’re not keeping up with it. You have to scroll for important information. We are having to do mass emails on our own and reach out individually to players families because this app is just not cutting it. If I was the one that got to choose I would drop this app. Luckily my husband is on the board of our soccer association so trust me it will be brought up. It sucks!!!

Lacking

The new TeamSnap One is greatly lacking from the original. You can no longer create assignments for volunteers to sign up. There is not a way to select individuals into a group to communicate in chat with. Maybe you want to have a chat with only your score volunteers, or organize a coach gift and not include the coaches.. And more. Disappointment compared to the features in the original TS for sure.

Garbage

Wish our club would’ve just kept using the original TS. This one is lacking. Hopefully they got it for free.

Definitely a step backwards…

The original Team Snap app is much better plus you can use it on a PC which is a huge benefit when managing a team.

NEW APP IS A DOWNGRADE

I’ve used TeamSnap for seven years and TeamSnapOne is a severe downgrade. The biggest problem is the Rosters in the App. I run a beach volleyball club with 48 athletes in my older group and 26 in my younger group.

In the old app we could include photos of the faces of the players so coaches could identify players and players could identify each other to pair up for tournaments (beach volleyball is 2v2). Now we just get a circle with their initials. USELESS!

We used to be able to add fields for position, gender, and number and could sort by first name, last name, position, gender, and number. I used position to create an alphanumeric code for each player. This allowed coaches and players to sort the roster identify players to pair up for tournaments. Now we can only add a number and the roster only sorts by first name. USELESS!

We used to be able to click on a player to get all their registration information. This allowed us to access critical information for carpooling, partnering, etc. Now we just get their primary contact. USELESS!

With a large number of coaches and players we need to identify players. Players need details such as age, height, and location to pick partners. The new app has so many fewer features than the old app. USELESS!

I have had several calls with TeamSnap staff over the last several months. I have brought up all of these points at least four times. NO RESPONSE! USELESS!

FYI I never write reviews but I am so frustrated by this new app. Why did they strip out all of the functionality? Makes no sense! USELESS!

Good app

Looks nice 👍

What is the point of this app?

As far as I can tell, the only difference between this and the original Team Snap app is a different font. Why do I need both apps? Don’t they do the exact same thing?

Miss the widget

I haven’t used it as my link was just sent out so I may edit this but I do miss the ability to add it as a widget to my phone on my lock screen. However it appears to be simple to transfer information but I enjoyed with the old Teamsnap being able to just check at a glance when my next game or practice was!

Downgrade from Team Snap

Right when you open the app, most of the Home Screen is taken up by a home training ad to purchase. So many useful features have been removed from the app. TeamSnap was 5 stars, this app 1 star.

App Needs A Reset Sign Up Modification

I’m having a hard time signing up or able to shop for Services because the app requires you to be in an active team

What led me to the app was the official website that said that now you have to buy services through the app because the official website does not and there’s no phone number or a hotline provided

Terrible

I have so many complaints about this app I don’t know where to start. The OG TeamSnap does everything better. This app has no positions,no email, no photos or files, no phone numbers, the chat is filled with practice time updates, the calendar only syncs at midnight, no desktop login for roster management, no ability for team staff to update the roster or any info, can’t edit a practice and change to a game at the same time. Need I go on? This is under-baked by developers who have never run a team. Completely insane to change from the OG TeamSnap to this.
