Best casino game so far
This game is easy to stay with not like the other games where you loose your money very fast, you earn it fast and enough to play.
How can anyone give this 5 Stars is beyond me!
If you are dealt a good hand no one bets and if you bet they fold. Now if they get a good hand betting is normal. I have on numerous occasions dealt the same had not once, not twice but 3 hands in a row, really? What are the odds of being dealt A 9, 3 times? OR A J, 3 times in a row? I’ll tell you, million to 1. Fix this game to deal totally random and you then will have a good game. If you don't believe me play poker in real life and you will see how bad this game is.

Addictive
I haven’t played Poker before this and I am loving it. Seeing NPC’s tells is also interesting, only issue is you can’t always check, but that is no reason to give it any less than what this game deserves!
Cheats!
I literally could not win a hand out of 20 attempts! The one good hand I had I flopped a straight and lost to a higher one! You can’t win in this game at all. Can’t play something where you don’t win. Just when you think you have the highest straight you get beat by a flush on the river. Then when you have the Ace high flush you then get beat by a full house! ?????? This game gets 5 stars for guaranteeing that you will lose no matter what cards or bet you place. They will even call your all in bluff with nothing in their hand.....and somehow still win! This is not how poker is played!

Monopoly
I am curious why Apple never gave opportunity to feature social poker apps but have its own app this option? That’s monopoly for sure! Who is next? Blackjack from Apple on main page? Zynga should think about it and ask their lawyers to be ready if it would happen.
So bad it’s funny
Look I get it; it’s a free game. That being said the AI in this game is absolutely ridiculous. Making huge bets on garbage hands, etc. it’s also amazing how many times those crap hands end up miraculously winning especially on the river. If “luck” were like that in real life Las Vegas would be a ghost town.

Sort of accessible
You can play, but it's not possible to tap players to see stats or bios, and you can only adjust bets by 5 dollars—an awful thing when you're betting 500
Tweaks on the vertical view please?
As many people have said, Texas Hold'em is great for novices and experts alike. The user interface is wonderful, allowing you to fold by flicking your cards in, or go all in by pushing your stack of chips to the center.
The horizontal view is great, with all the info you need: a ranking of your hand (simply touch and release to see how strong your hand is), pot and player info, even player histories.
My only complaint is about the vertical view. It is SO cool to actually have near-realistic players to compete against. But in this view you can't tell how much money other players have, or even how many players are in the pot. This means I am forced to constantly play in horizontal mode, even though I'd love to play more vertically. If Apple could find a way to show crucial hand/pot info even in the vertical movie view, this app would be incredible.
One other point about the AI (Artificial Intelligence). The computer players are a bit too aggressive. The easiest way to win is by simply folding every hand until most of the AIs have knocked themselves out with their constant all-in betting. Once you're down to 2 or 3 other players, you can start playing for real.

Best Hold'em Implimentation On This Kind of Media
Hands down the best Texas Hold'em game for a cell phone, or portable media at this size. Easy, intuitive interface--already a polished UI, and the ability to speed through turns in Single Player mode. Everything about this app is 1st rate. The only hickup is the ability to only play Multi-Player with people sharing the same WiFi signal--and I am aware of the logistics of having to host multi-player games would become cumbersome--but Apple is the company supplying the game! Surely if anybody has the resources, they do. That is my ONLY qualm about this game / app. Easily worth $4.99+.

UI is beautiful, but gameplay is horribly unrealistic...
I don't know if Apple built or bought the "random" number generator that deals the cards, but it is clearly not random at all. I've been playing for about 3 hours and I've seen a Royal Flush, 5 instances of Four of a Kind, at least 8 Full Houses, and 6 or more Flushes. It's ridiculous. A Royal Flush is a one in a million hand - and multiple Four of a Kinds? The board is so often 4-flush or, in the same 3 hour session, I saw at least 4 Straights on the board... It's just silly.
It's fun to look at, but don't consider it practice or anything close to real poker. It's strictly for entertainment, if you find making huge, impossible-to-make hands entertaining. I wanted to play poker. It doesn't matter how good or bad the AI of the virtual opponents is, the cards are not random, they're deliberately skewed to make big hands. Boo!

Nice format
Plays like a free online game. Don't go all in without a nuts hand.
Update:
I have played it enough to say the A. I. Really does need tweeked. It consistently holds inferior cards and pulls it out on the river. It folds when you have a good hand and bet low. Both are signs it's playing a known outcome. You get burned on slot machine outcomes (I.e. King high flush vs. Ace high) way more than natural. You can win easy by folding to 3rd or better, cashing in almost every game what fun is that?
I reserved this drop to 3 stars giving time for an update but I doubt that will happen. I still think this is a good game I'm just disappointed with the gameplay when everything else is so polished and it's not a cheap game.

Good game, AI is annoying
Overall this is a good game. The play moves fast which I really like. U can skip all preflop betting just by touching the screen and skip right to your turn. And u can skip a hand being played if you're not in it and still see the outcome. I like playing in landscape mode so I can see the whole table instead of portrait mode where u have to watch animations for each individual player.
The AI is questionable tho. They raise wayyy too much preflop, often like 8x-10x the big blind instead of the standard 3x-4x. And they push and call all in with bad hands and often when there's no need for it. You could see someone push in for $8k into a $500 pot. No need for that. Things like that make the game just another standard hold 'em game. If the AI was improved it would actually be a really good game.

Great Game!!!!
Okay... For five bucks you think...if it's not the greatest I haven't lost that much....So I tried it out...This game is so fun. I usually get bored really quick with games for mobile platforms but this game is soooo worth $5. If I knew that the games on here that cost $10 were as good as this one I'd buy them. And, if the games that are $10 were $5 I'd probably buy them just to try them out...But $10 is too much unless you are really sure it's good. For $10 there should be demos or just charge $5.

Could be great if AI flaws are fixed
Absolutely horrible AI. They will be bet 3/4 their money or go all in with junk hands before even seeing the flop. So 90% of the time your going to just fold or hope you get lucky and call them. It's extremely annoying bc they will bet a ton before the flop and then if you call them they'll just check the rest of the time. Many more flaws on top of this as well.
This games graphics are great but for anyone that knows how to really play hold em, this game has serious flaws that need fixed in an update.
If they offer an update and fix the problems this game could be great but very annoying as it is now....

Great game development!
Look, I'm an avid poker player...been playing hold'em since before the moneymaker days. Apple Inc. really got it right! Simple interface, and the hand gestures make it simple to breeze through a tourney. A simple flip, and Birdseye view will suit most online poker players as well as brick and mortar players.
Most the reviews I read implied it was rigged, and suckouts were abound. I beg to differ. I've played well over a million hands of poker in my life time. The randomization, and amazing rivers are just as true to real life, as the pushes some of the AI opponents and real thinking strategy is. Often the opponents will raise to steal your blind, or protect theirs.
I thought this app was a little expensive at $4.99, but it's every penny worth it, and I'd even gift it to a friend or two. Great for passing time at the airport, and use of wi-fi is great for home games anywhere.
Do not buy this game if you have anger management issues. Cussing in public after a bad beat, is not recommended and cracked screens just aren't hip these days. Show restraint cowboy, and practice good bankroll management. Now what are you waiting for? Shuffle up and deal.

Awesome!
I don't know what the problem is with some of the others, but I've had no problems so far (other than i've spent several hours playing this thing when I should have been doing something else). I've only started playing poker, and I've been able to win through atleast the third level. Playing on a computer is never going to be like playing real people, but I think they did a nice job with this app. I don't regret downloading it at all, and it's now my favorite app. It does get frustrating when you consistently get your pocket aces beat by a 2/3, however.
UPDATE: It took me a few weeks, but I finally got first place on all levels. It's not impossible.

Good, but too easy
This is a great game, and by far it will be one of my most used apps. However, the opponents are way too easy. I played each level a few times to earn enough money to play the next level several times, and after a few hours I got to the last tournament. Well I entered the last tournament, and now I have over $2 mil cuz I won the $1.25 mil first prize. Now I'll just be playing that one all the time, and accumulating loads of (fake) dough...
Then again, I'm really good at Hold 'em, so many may find this challenging. But if you know how to school n00bs, then it will be easy, because that's all the computer opponents are.
Notice how they say WiFi multi player... This is not the same thing as Online multi player, which makes me sad! WiFi means you have to be on the same network, which is lame. Add ONLINE multi player, please!
Unless you just HAPPEN to have a good friend with an iPhone who just HAPPENS to like this game enough to buy it and play with you, WiFi multi player is the same as no multi player. And even if you do have such a friend, that's only two people! I want NINE people playing online! ;)

Addicting! But there might be a small flaw...
I can play this for hours on end. I usually play in landscape mode so I can blitz through the game easier. I've noticed that when you're down to you and another player at a table, if you are the small blind and you call the big blind, the opponent will usually do a moderate raise (depending on their chip count) and 99% of the time, they're bluffing. I just wait until I have a good hand in this situation, call the big blind, wait for them to do their thing, and go all in. They run off like a beaten puppy every time. It's like clockwork, almost too easy. The bluffing in this game is probably more than most of us would see in real life.
