IPad issues

Recent glitches on the iPad app that I’ve used for many years. Huge run around from the Australian support. Useless

Hedley’s podcasts

I find Hedley’s podcast very distasteful. They are dollar driven witch-hunts.

Update

Since your last update, I cannot even get into my account. Please fix it!!!

Not really a contest of ideas

Biasis and arbitrary adjudication of responses dispells the claim that the Australian is a “Contest of ideas.” when obvious offensive comments are allowed and factual arguments supported by current literature is not?

Still unstable

This app worked well for years. It’s been crashing upon opening for a few weeks now. The bug fix for instability that was made a couple of days ago has not worked for me on iPhone 16e.

Recycled News

The app has improved over the years from a technical perspective but the user experience is still way off where the international competition currently sits. The ‘latest’ section is a mixture of old news and editorials taken from the other sections which is just misleading, so once you’ve scrolled down this section you’ve seen everything there is. Content is wafer thin these days. There is no chance to contact the paper, you can offer comments now which is mostly a plus. Monday is OK at least we get some content from the London Times. An app with a grand vision supporting about as much real content as the local scouts newsletter, possibly why the paper is so focussed on parliament because its the only thing happening and that’s where the Australian’s journalist lives, shame about the rest of the world.

Log in problems

Why, after years of being a subscriber, do I get the nuisance page out of the blue to log in? This spoils my enjoyment of a great newspaper.

Not so good now

Some of the reporting not much better than the local daily papers and getting very selective on comments that are allowed to be published by readers.

Rating

Extremely right wing and biased reporting with an even more right wing readership. The and the editorial team do not hold reasonable commentary and often they have an irritating superior attitude to those who do not think the same way.

Apps need work

Some annoying aspects of the app. 1. The same sound track (something about Megan Markel and Masterchef) starts to play randomly when reading the paper on my phone 2. Can no longer just swipe right to return to the paper after reading an article. 3. The web page keeps asking for login details when you right click on an article and open in a new tab.

Off-putting cover stories

Obsession with Albanese, Bowen, totally biased and annoying. We can make our own judgement and don’t need this constant propaganda. Stick to unbiased reporting:

Extreme bias

The app is fine, but the content is weird to say the least. It’s a very doom and gloom view of the world, very much extreme right. Thankfully I don’t pay for it - it comes free if you have an Amex which probably increases their subscriber numbers. Unless you are a white, conservative older male with fixed views of the world - don’t bother with this app.

I just want accurate news.

Getting fed up with the anti-Labor and pro-Israel bias. And the hypocrisy of saying the ABC is biased. Sadly have no choice but to cancel subscription.

There once was a great newspaper

The Australian, many many years ago was a good read. Now it is just a mouth piece for the right wing and fringe of Australian politics. If it is anti renewable it’s in the Australian. If it supports Israel it’s in the Australian. If it is pro war with china it’s in the Australian. If it is pro wealth transfer to the wealthy it’s in the Australian.

Written mostly by a grab bag of sad ex coalition parliamentarians and hangers on.

Crashes my iPad everyday

As I read the paper each morning my iPad slows to a halt and freezes. The only way to fix is appears to be resetting the App manually.

Balanced news

I find the Australian gives the best coverage of politics, business, world news and local news.

Sometimes very slow

The page is huge and updated far too often so it has to keep reloading after one reads an article and returns to the main page which is slow and tiresome.

The Front

Really enjoy Claire Harvey

Heavy Bias

I have to really search through the Home page now to get to the stories that are not just right wing views and the steady stream of opinion pieces in support of heavily right wing public figures.

WHY

I keep getting thrown out of the app for no apparent reason. I’m up to date with updates so why oh why. Very frustrating
