About

The FilmGays is a London film club for gay, bi and trans men — the cinema-loving corner of the BoardGays community (@theboardgays). Here's how it works: we vote on what to watch next — from iconic classics to arthouse gems — then get together to actually watch it, at each other's places and at cinemas around town. This app is the home for all of it. VOTE ON THE NEXT FILM Line up the contenders and let the club decide. Live, ranked, and gloriously opinionated — the winner gets screened. BOOK YOUR SEAT Every screening in one tidy list. Reserve your spot, bring a +1, and get a reminder before the lights go down. No more "wait, are we still on for Friday?" PLAN CINEMA TRIPS Off to a screening at a cinema? Post the outing, drop the showtime, and watch the crew sign up — everyone's seat next to their name, so you actually sit together. TALK ABOUT IT Every film and night has its own thread. Argue about the ending, share the meme, relive the evening. KNOW YOUR PEOPLE Profiles, photos, and a face-pile of who's coming — like your group chat grew up and fell in love with cinema. New here? The FilmGays is part of BoardGays — find us on Instagram @theboardgays. Sign in to join the club. You can permanently delete your account and data any time from your profile.

What's New in The FilmGays

1.0.2

September 30, 2026

A visual pass across the whole app — sharper type, calmer surfaces, motion that feels like iOS. Swipe back from the edge on any film night or trip. The poll: a tie is a tie. Films on equal votes share a place; the Community Admin settles a first-place tie when the poll locks, and voting closes at the deadline. Film nights: a seat being claimed from the waitlist now shows as held, with the member holding it in the queue. Three ignored offers and the seat moves on. Cinema trips: the card on Home reads as an invitation — poster, when, the host's own note — and one tap counts you in. Plus fixes to text at large sizes, the bottom of detail pages, and message delivery.
