I’ve ditched all social media and now lean into the Guardian for any phone dopamine and I feel a lot better. Regardless of paper (Guardian, Telegraph, Times, Sun etc…) I’d recommend it

Great app, but lately I’ve noticed that it’s making my battery drain really fast and also causes iPhone and iPad to get really hot.

The only solution I’ve found is to make sure I force quit the app.

I read The Guardian daily and love it. Always insightful, groundbreaking and challenging. Just as news should be.

Yet again the damn app wants me to sign in. The Guardian line on this is that it wants to test reader response to being asked to sign in in. (What?).
OK, so here’s my response: it’s a bloody nuisance and a breach of contract. I pay for this subscription, so when you block my access you are in breach of contract.
Since Rusbridger left there has been a considerable decline in the quality of writing and in the impact of the journalism. Your competitors (Byline Times, for instance) are braver, more inquisitive, and just get on with delivering the journalism.

Non corporate and community media is more important now than ever. Guardian is (mostly) clear-eyed, well-written, thoughtful, and balanced.
Very annoying
One of the top news sources in the world but often, when you switch back from another app, it has lost it’s memory of which article you were reading and you end up at the top of the main page and have to remember and drill back down to continue reading where you left off.

Content, navigation, headings, almost everything about the Guardian app is outstanding. Editorial and opinions are not agenda-driven. Balanced and well sourced journalism. No billionaire puppet-master. So far ahead of the rest it’s embarrassing.

I applaud the Guardian for its reporting of facts and continually challenging all aspects of government- and for its investigative journalism. Fighting water pollution is a serious matter which the Guardian pressed to address the failures of infrastructure sell off. Keep up the good work.

The app ran in the background at night without me opening the app or touching my phone. It ran in the background for more than 3 hours and totally drained the battery

I cannot delete the app as it has vanished from my screen. If I search for it in apps all it shows is “open”

Broken again
Once again the app stops showing any article. Just delivers a photo and a headline. I’m paying for this and I expect much better. Usual Guardian slack attitude.

I used to like it but now you have to pay a subscription to access anything. Deleted.
