Rubbish
Halfway round NC 500 downloaded app at home before starting. Instructions request pressing subjects/ buttons that don’t exist. Thank God we didn’t go for the Isle of Skye tour too.
What happened?? From great to awful
I downloaded this app 2 years ago and purchased the tour for Isle of Skye and the North 100. It was fabulous. I recommended it in a Scotland tourist group but when the person had trouble I opened it to see if I could help. All the tours are gone. I can’t access any of them. I deleted and tried a new download but nothing. I can’t access the tours and you are losing sales. Too bad. It was really great.

Can’t really use app without buying in app purchases
This App looks great, but there is no where to try it out that doesn’t cost money. You’re able to see a list of highlights for free, but otherwise the app is really not accessible without payment.
Absolutely Essential
What an App! Even though we’d researched and identified some of the main points we wanted to visit on our NC500 trip this app was invaluable and provided additional information on the local area and history along the way, with the option to chose which version you want ie clockwise or anti-clockwise it really does cover everything

Amazing
We completed the NC500 and Skye with this guide and we can’t thank you enough! From toilets to car parks, you’ve thought of it all! We loved it!
Audio messed up
This app plays the audio track twice at the same time, it is as if it has been released for beta testing.
The offline downloading of the audio is poor, no ability to simply stream it.

Brilliant App - MTBVanLife
We here at MTBVanLife had no set plans to go anywhere in particular, instead drive and see where we end up. Actually getting this app made the whole trip unique. It’s like having a local in your car without having them there at all. We found so many awesome places that would have been missed. You can spend as long as you like navigating the NC500 and travel at your own speed with this. Highly recommended app and a learning experience too!

A Roadtrippers Best Friend
Worth every penny. We would of missed some of the most unforgettable moments of our trip around Isle of Skye and the North Coast 500, had it not been for this app. You gain the knowledge of the land, as if you were on a one-on-one guided tour, but with the freedom to go where you please and at your own pace - this gps activated voice tour is genius. Great app. Highly recommend.

Fantastic guide
We loved using this app whilst doing the NC500, it gave loads of info and we saw and did lots that we hadn’t even thought of. Highly recommend getting this just hope they come up with some more tours, Ireland would be good for instance.
Perfect Companion
I’ve just spent a week in the company of ‘The Local Guide’ who has ably pointed me in the direction of some amazing parts of Scotland that I would undoubtably driven straight past Although there are some great guide books for the NC500. They are difficult to access when you are driving alone. This app gave me all the information I needed without distracting me from my driving or the view. I would strongly recommend the app (but do make sure you download it using WiFi as it doesn’t download fully if using 4G.)

Good content, too glitchy
This app has the potential to be amazing. The content is amazing and really helps point you to be key sights.
The GPS starts the narration when you hit key points along the way ... or at least it should, but often doesn’t. During our trip, we’d pass key spots and it wouldn’t prompt the narration. You’d either have to click it manually (fine if you have a passenger - not if you don’t!) and often the app would need to be closed and reopened.
If this worked smoothly with no glitches it’d be perfect. But as it doesn’t, and it gets quite frustrating so I’m giving it 3 stars.
Still, for the price if you’re doing the trip it’s well worth it.

Brilliant
We completed the North Coast 500 yesterday over 10 days. The Local Guide was amazing and definitely added to our experience. The location pointers were fab, I’m sure we would have struggled finding some of the places without it. Just the perfect amount of information on each suggested stop allowed us to decide on where we wanted to visit. Prior to holiday I spent many hours researching where to go and what to do each day, my husband is more of the wing it and see type on holiday, this app takes the stress out of the planning and allows you to enjoy your surroundings.
I highly recommend this app to anyone doing the NC500, and look forward to more tours coming in future.

Brilliant tour guide app
This app was brilliant on our tour of the North Coast 500, we finished yesterday. It’s really impressive how the geotagging works to make sure you are aware of upcoming points of interest. I’ve enjoyed the little history interludes as well, it really gives life to the landscapes. This was so much more helpful than everyone’s suggested guidebook. We really recommend you use the app we found more interesting places using it than in all our research before the trip.

Great for planning
I am doing the coast road 500 in the spring , and using this now for planning. I like this very much, and think it will be a true tour guide when I’m on the road

Without it I’d have missed out on so much when doing the NC500! ... well thought out informative and entertaining .. definitely recommend to anyone thinking of doing the “route” ... money well spent

Amazing!
Used the App when traveling the NC500 route and it was simply brilliant! Was fascinating being able to see landmarks and learn the history and culture of places as we drove passed them! Without the App we’d have been oblivious to this. The music really added to the audio narrations also and we were gripped for the whole journey! Looking forward to the next journey with the Local Guide!

Fantastic app!
It took a lot of stress out of the driving and holiday! It meant that we could enjoy the route/holiday without looking in to the map or history book constantly and meant we didn’t miss out on anything either.
