Strongly not recommending

The writing is extremely lazy , many times it gives multiple options which are not linked together. For instance right at the beginning main
protagonist can go everywhere at the castle, and do something, the order is not important and you can explorer all option, that trick repeats itself and sometimes it works, sometimes its a munchkin style like i need to try all options and do something each time.

The actions are also convoluted, in all such games if you cant do something the option is not available, here you can try to cast a fireball when you have 47 skill, but you need 50, you will know this only after a failed attempt and lost battle. How do i suppose to know this in advance that i need 50???

Dialoges outcome are broken in a lot of time when you pick some compromise option, in fact one of the characters is offended, just cause author wants this.

All in all, i am very very surprised someone likes this, i do believe the positive reviews could be bought here.

I played the full game through!

I had an absolute blast playing Lost Heir 1! Rich, fun, intricate and replayable story arcs make this one of my most enjoyable text based games I’ve played, in recent years! The relationship system is fantastic! I hope it leads to having a lover and not just a friend, because this game gives me hope that more mature themes can be played in deeper role playing games, such as this one. Loads of potential with the process of building friendships and relationships with many of the diverse characters! You can choose many hundreds of paths, each with different outcomes depending on your decision making! Some of the things that might be difficult for new RPG players is the item, money and relationship system. It requires a lot of practice and trial and error! You’ll fail a lot, at first! Secondly, the demon summoning seems very weak! It could have been an entire game in itself, if realized for that principal. It was that promising! I thought the demon relationships seemed quite sick! I would have loved engaging in demon battles with guards, bosses and monsters, out in the world! The Relationship system, the jewel of this game, is very well constructed and feels quite complex! Which is quite good! Combat needs a little more work, as hp and damage isn’t well represented later on. The strengths of this game are rested more with its story and relationship system! The inventory system is quite fantastic! Clean, robust and neat! Bravo! The accessibility is superb! I’ve played the entire game on Youtube! My channel GAME Double Tap! Has the full play through! Check it out, if you want! Awesome game and I look forward to more advancements, stories and game play elements! Keep it cheeky and fun! Thank you!

Great Game

Great game but sometimes hard to maximize results. The implications for many decisions are not always obvious even when studying the scenario. Overall awesome.

Great game

Most excellent... absolutely brilliant...

Create a back feature

It would be nice to be able to go back a page, if a mistake was made or wrong choice was picked, instead of having to start over again. Please consider for future update if possible.

Legacy pack not working?

This is an outstanding game. I’ve been playing since before 2 or 3 were even released and I love it. My only complaint is that for some reason it won’t let me purchase the legacy advantage. So, if I can get some help figuring that out, I would be overjoyed!

Pretty amazing

To be 100% honest I don’t really write reviews but I saw the Most recent review of this and actually upset me. This game is very good there is a lot of depth to it I’ve probably played through at least 30 to 40 times and I would say 26 of those times had something that I had never seen before or didn’t even realize was a possibility. There’s a lot a unique choices every single time that I played through why I couldn’t do something I went back on my next place he would try to figure out what I had to do to be able to do that. I recommended this to all of my friends who play dnd and have heard nothing but good things from them too. Outstanding job.

Fun, but be prepared to play several times or use guides

This game is pretty rough on the unprepared player; a blind playthrough will likely lose characters the first time through.

My advice to early players is to choose Sir Grady as a mentor and become a Squire, which gives you good skills and a few freebies from time to time. Magic is tempting, but being a pure magician will bite you HARD in The Lost Heir 3, where physical attributes ARE needed not to die.

P.S.
The Legacy Advantage only can be bought through the Hosted Games app. It makes it significantly easier to hit the skill checks, but the added story only appears in The Lost Heir 1 (so far).

Overrated and short!

This is the first review I’ve ever written for a game out of my 9 years of gaming experience which emphasizes just how much this game disappointed me. This game is overrated. How did this game get a 4.8 rating? I’ve played 12 games by Hosted Games and the price to length ratio of this one is not worth it. I made it through the game in about 3 or 4 hours and I’m not the fastest reader. I’ve played through the game 3 times and I’ve been disappointed every time. I don’t know if I’m playing it wrong or something but bad things always happen and my character always loses in battle. Each time I played through I used a different class and went about things a different way correlating to my character’s class but I keep getting the same results. Also the stat system is terrible. You have to have very high stats in a certain area just to pass a simple check. I tried to be a spell sword in my first play through but learned that you can really only focus on one class. Also the reviews of the third game are bad meaning you won’t get a satisfying end to this series. If you’re looking for a game to get skip this one and get the “Samurai of Hyuga” series. That series is my favorite out of all the games I’ve played by “Hosted Games”.

Great read!

When I bought this when it came out I thought I would read it once and I’d be done with it. I was wrong. I read this book and the whole trilogy dozens of times and I love this series. The one problem is that when I try to buy the legacy advantage it says the purchase failed. Otherwise, amazing game and great read worth taking time out of your day for! (If you can contact me about the legacy advantage I would appreciate it!)

Love the game but one problem

I love the game, I keep playing it over and over with different scenarios, only problem is that I can’t buy the legacy upgrade, yet I can buy all the other upgrades on other games like this.

IMPORTANT!! Reference legacy upgrade!

UPDATING this review. A much of people have complained about not being able to upgrade the game to unlock they legacy advantage. I haven’t been able to all day, always pops up with an error. But I found the solution!! You can not purchase the legacy bonus on the standalone version of this game. You have to go to the lost heir in the Hosted Games app. Purchasing the upgrade through that app works perfectly. Hope it helps!

So. I play a disgusting amount of choose your own adventure / RPGs, I’ve tried nearly every one on the App Store barring the ones in phone messages format, just not a fan of those. And out of all of the ones I’ve played The Lost Heir is by far one of my favorites, if not THE favorite. I absolutely love the character development for my character and the companions, I love the wide variety of outcomes dependent on my decisions.

I especially love all the alteration you can make so far as classes and even subclasses do. So when you beat the game you can make different choices, or make similar choices with a different class or sub class and it makes it all feel new again.

If you want to play a beautifully thought out and immersive game that gets you to genuinely care for all of the characters involved, look no further! You found it in The Lost Heir.

The only issue I am having right now in which I’d like to bring to the attention of the developers is that I am having difficulty purchasing the legacy upgrade. It claims it might be an issue connecting to the internet, but everything else is working fine and connected. Reinstalling the app currently to see if it fixes it.

But in general a big thank you to the developers for making such an elating game! I am a huge fan! Please continue to make stories similar to this!

Amazing

I have played this game though 123 times and every time I learn something new the care that was been put into this game is truly something! Although the legacy advantage doesn’t work yet it’s not a necessary to experience a successful and enjoyable time

Love the game but won’t let me upgrade

I would like to get the new upgrade but it just won’t let me other that that pretty good game

Purchase Problem

I like this game and I felt like buying the Legacy Advantage because of the description, but every time I try to purchase it I am unable to make the purchase. I would like to get it because of how much I like this game and the two other games after. Please help this situation if it is on your part. Thank you.

Good game!

I have all three and end up coming to play them all every few months. I’m still figuring out classes and it can be repetitive but still fun overall!

Good, but missing Legacy Adventure

On the Kindle version, there is an optional Legacy Adventure you can purchase for bonuses like stat boosts. Will that ever come to the Apple version?

Amazing Game

Make sure to carve out plenty of time if you intend to play this game. It’s magical, brilliant, and just awesome. You’ll constantly be thinking about it if you’re away from it and the story will leave you in amazement. One of the best games I’ve ever played.

WOW!!!

This is the jewel of the choice games!
AMAZING STORY LINE!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEASE DONT STOP!!!

Incredibly fun with great replayability

I really enjoyed playing the game over and over again, trying to figure out the right combination of stats to succeed.
