Nice when it works
It take far too many attempts to make the thermometer connect. The app is absolute garbage and lacks any ability to do anything if it won't connect. One of the worst UI's to try and navigate. Terrible purchase.
I hope you don’t want to just know the temp.
I suppose there are some people that this app is perfect for. People who aren’t actually interested in grabbing their thermometer and just using it. If you want that you’re SOL. However if you’re more into picking about 75 settings, seeing 45 warnings, and having to use an account just to tell what temp your meat is…THIS IS THE APP FOR YOU! I’m not sure you could take something this simple and make it more convoluted.

no Polish menu, still a lot of errors, the device is nice but it makes you dizzy during the first configuration and multiple unsuccessful updates of the thermometers, I bought 4 pieces and I don't even want to use them because of these errors, I went back to the old, working thermometer from Napoleon.

No apparent phone number and support button does not work for me
I could not find a phone number to go with this product anymore online, in the app, or after hitting the support button. Also, I could not get the Port information to show up after trying to use the support button. I have some questions I would like to ask before buying this product. As I mentioned in a previous review, I do not like to get products and then immediately have to return them. Also, how am I going to troubleshoot what is going on during a cook without a phone number I can use? This does not demonstrate a well-thought-out support system. In fact, demonstrates just the opposite.

App needs accessibility improvements for blind individuals using screen readers
I just purchased my meat stick today from Amazon. The app is easy to set up, but looking at it to cook with, many buttons are unlabeled, so you don't know what you're pressing if you use a screen reader such as VoiceOver on iOS. Therefore, I don't know how easy this app is going to be for blind people to use it. Would appreciate some fixes from the debs thank you so much

Why does my meat thermometer need my location? This thing requests way too much data and the setup is annoying.

The stick aside, the app is awful. It’s schizophrenic, and invasive and has several problems that I will list for the developers:
First, why even allow us to use it without signing in, if you’re going to pop up the sign in window on every single action. Also, I tried both the Google and Apple OpenID options, and neither worked after several attempts. Finally had to just email login.
The alerts and pop ups are insane. If one pops up then 15 more will as well all saying the same thing. It’s like a 90s spam virus. One is enough.
The temperature display bounces back and forth from the actual temperature and like ambient temperature. It hurts my head. Either display both side-by-side or pick one. I hate having to wait and catch it at the exact moment it takes the measurement.
Smaller things: why can’t I rename the stick, the Bluetooth/wifi stuff with the extender is glitchy, the repeated firmware updates are excessive, the UI in general is too much, and the tutorial is just annoying not helpful.
Simplify and improve the app or just ship a small device that displays what it transmits instead.

Terrible Product
I ordered my meat stick on Amazon. I barely had a chance to use it before it failed. The warranty expires after 30 days! The technical support has had me run multiple test in an effort to prove their product actually works. No longer worth the effort to justify this product and complete lack of service after just 30 days. Too bad because it looked like a good product.

Looks like you have bricked the stick. The stick keeps dropping out and can’t be found. New batteries and extender 18” from stick and next to phone.
Just use a Thermopen
Like most things these days, this gadget is over- complicated with no obvious advantage over the ever-reliable Thermopen. Download the app, link to the Stick, be sure to insert the Stick *all the way* or you’ll ruin it! Don’t wash it or you’ll ruin it! Be sure you’re close by or it won’t work! Be sure to watch the tutorial or you’ll ruin it! Watch out for possible radio interference!
Really, it’s over-engineered and over-complicated for a simple thermometer. Just don’t.

Tracking my meat ALWAYS
Dear Soma Labs, why are you interested in tracking me while not using your app?
Won’t connect
I have had the meatstick for a few years now and every time I try to use it I have issues connecting. I have 3 sticks today I can only get one to connect. I would not recommend this product.
Pure junk
My wife got me one for Christmas a couple of years ago. It doesn’t read well through the lid of the pit, and connecting is just the worst. I emailed support, took a week to respond, no help at all. As I finish typing, it will be put in the trash, and I will buy another brand.

Buy something else. It needs location sevices to function. Why?

Der Stick, obwohl definitiv voll geladen, verbindet sich gerade wie er will mit der App. Ist er tatsächlich mal verbunden, geht alles soweit ordentlich. Aber ohne Xtender funkt er aus dem Backofen nur schwach
Gut, wenn man noch ein drahtgebundenes Thermometer hat. Da das schon ein Austauschstick ist, der anfangs gut lief, aber auch wieder anfing zu zicken, würde ich mir das Ding niemals mehr kaufen

Location Always on??
Why on earth does a meat thermometer need location services always on? Not only that but the connection barely ever stays on, I have to reconnect 2-3 time per cook! Interface is fine and helps me with my cooks but there’s for sure better options on the market
