Great app for me to use on the road
I love WNXP and when I travel, I can use the app to listen to the station.
Old style, but works quite well!
Super grateful for this app, and it works very well. Just kinda dated as far as style.
Mostly useless for me
I got this app for the classical station. Instead, I got daily headlines from liberal journalists complaining about anything and everything. The classical station isn’t that great, I’d rather keep listening to KUSC.
Echoing others
This is a delightful app, and it allows me to easily access WNXP; however, the connection does sometimes drop, which can be a bummer! Once they fix that, it’ll be perfection.
Love having WPLN on my phone
Great for when I’m gardening, etc. and not near a “regular” radio!
A most useful app.
I am a long time listener to WPLN. Now that I have the app on my phone I can listen to the 4 WPLN options when I am away from my home radio or my car. I love it.
Glitchy, consistently
I love NPT but even this latest version on the app is consistently glitchy. Station players will not launch even after repeated closing and relaunch or once playing, station streaming repeats a four second loop of the first audio feed played. Can’t wait for the next update to fix these bugs.
WPLN/NPR on the Go!
I love that I can listen to NPR, and most enjoyably, my local station when I’m on the go. No more lost signal on the radio and forced to find another station…Even worse is when there is no local station as when I go to work. (Live in Nashville, but I work in Columbia.) As others have noted, there are however drops in the app’s signal, which forces one to hit “play” in order to get it started back up. If not for this, I’d give it 5 stars.

Easy and Dependable
When we first moved to Nashville from Seattle in 2018 we were excited to find WPLN! We left our radio behind and we stream now at home - the App or online streaming (not sure there was an App) was a little clunky in 2018 and early 2019 but the App has improved SO much and is fabulous!! We use it to listen all day long!

Listening to Nashville Classical
Since this is the now only way to listen to classical music at home without utilizing a CD player, the app is a god send. I’ve had connectivity issues, but they seem to be few and random.
I love it!
I wish it was easier to listen to some of the other non-local programs like Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me, but otherwise I love the programming and the app is very well done.
Easy listening, with the occasional glitch
Love the easy format for listening in on my phone. My only complaint is the spontaneous connection loss, as some other reviewers have eluded to.

Buggy
Worked well for the first few years, but now it’s extremely buggy. I reported the issues twice, only to be told to do all the things I had already done to fix it. They might as well have told me to turn it off and back on again. I don’t think they care.
Love being able to find shows and to listen live!
New to the area, but having a great NPR station makes it feel more like home already
Enjoy listening to 91.1 Classical
I love being able to listen to music on my phone. The only reason I don’t give this app 5 stars is because I would like to see a playlist, in addition to the song currently playing. I do like that the current song info is displayed.
Does not work
The stream constantly breaks down, requiring the user to restart the app. Incredibly frustrating!
Consistently Fails
Every time I use this app, it stalls. Not every 5th time or once a week. It’s every single time. The only way I can get it to stream WPLN for longer than 30 seconds is to go to the App Store and open it from there. Arrrrrrghhh! It’s inconvenient and feels harmful, since WPLN and NPR have informative and balanced news programs.

Finicky Connection
Sometimes it works great, other times it loads and loads and then when playback begins it will jump back 10 seconds and behave erratically. I’ve switched over to the NPR One app due to its rock solid performance and inclusion of WPLN coverage.
