I don’t need to be reminded about notifications turned off every time I open the app. There off for that reason- not to be bugged for every change- I’ll look when I want to
Gone backwards
This used to be a great app but since update it bugs me every five minutes for notifications and no longer has facility to bookmark articles. Shame.
August 2024 Version Steps Backwards
The writing in this paper is often interesting and different from what you read elsewhere, so it’s a shame the app stepped backward in the latest version.
The app used to allow you to easily toggle between general news and news by regions and topics, but that is gone.
It also had photos with each article, providing relief from the wall of text that is now more prevalent.
Worse, every time you open the app users now have to dismiss the notification alert.
National, please do better. Your content deserves a better app.

Great app and source of news
App runs smoothly, always new features being added, NO ADVERTS, easy to read pages and a peerless source of information in the region and beyond.
Great when it works
But, half the time, it crashes when trying to open or when opening an article. Not reliable.
