I don’t need to be reminded about notifications turned off every time I open the app. There off for that reason- not to be bugged for every change- I’ll look when I want to
Gone backwards
This used to be a great app but since update it bugs me every five minutes for notifications and no longer has facility to bookmark articles. Shame.
August 2024 Version Steps Backwards
The writing in this paper is often interesting and different from what you read elsewhere, so it’s a shame the app stepped backward in the latest version.
The app used to allow you to easily toggle between general news and news by regions and topics, but that is gone.
It also had photos with each article, providing relief from the wall of text that is now more prevalent.
Worse, every time you open the app users now have to dismiss the notification alert.
National, please do better. Your content deserves a better app.

Great app and source of news
App runs smoothly, always new features being added, NO ADVERTS, easy to read pages and a peerless source of information in the region and beyond.
Great when it works
But, half the time, it crashes when trying to open or when opening an article. Not reliable.
Impressive tabloid application
The customization features are a great improvement to this app. I like seeing news that is relevant to me

Since the update the application unexpectedly closes when user is scrolling down page.

I want it to better
My favorite English paper in the UAE, but the website on mobile is better than the app. the app just seems like a smaller version of the website but the fonts are tiny and its just not appealing...it needs to be revamped for the mobile.
iPad
It is not convenient for iPad, I need to turn it vertically to read articles. Fix it please for horizontal reading
Latest update messed up everything
As soon as you open the app, it force quits
Content is good. App is poor though.
The National web site is very good and I hoped the app would compliment it, but it doesn’t. The app is not configured for the 11 pro max screen, but worse than that it is buggy. The screen can freeze or just refuse to load (especially if you press the back button).
I’ll stick with the web site in future thanks. I don’t have the required patience to use this app.

Love The National UAE ... as a non GCC resident seeking reliable news source for and from the region; this is the go-to place. Great app.
iOS 13 Not sure though
I am using iPhone X running on iOS 13 not able to scroll this app down becoz of which not able to navigate to below news update at all 😞😞😞 Plz fix this

Nice UI and good articles, but not getting any push notifications and sometimes it is slow to load.
