Think they shut down
When the app was working I enjoyed it. While I usually had to follow up at least once to get my withdrawals, I at least received my money. However, starting September 15, 2024, I did not receive my withdrawal requests. I tried several more times and still did not receive any response. I noticed that while I was paying the monthly membership, they were no longer offering games, so I canceled my subscription. They have $225 of my winnings and now I was automatically logged out of their app and when I try to login, it is saying server error. So now I have no way of proving my account balance. My assumption is they’ve shut down, which is unfortunate, However, I am curious how they plan to honor customer winnings? I have no idea who to contact or how to go about getting my money. My assumption is I am pretty much screwed and will never see my $225. I decided to make a report to the FTC. Maybe if enough of us do it we can get our money?

Exercise caution!
I downloaded the app and reluctantly used my debit card to purchase a Silver subscription, because trying to do it with PayPal wouldn’t work. There was an error message that PayPal wasn’t working. I tried to find a contest of any kind and got only “no data is currently available.” Clicked on “Live” and got “no live contests currently available.” Tried to deposit some playing money with PayPal and got same error message of it not working. The Welcome email and the app say you can email or DM on Facebook for help and get a response within 24 hours. Over the last 3 days I have sent 2 emails and a Facebook message for help. The last attempt was almost 48 hours ago and I have gotten zero response to any of my messages. Maybe there are no contests that are available at all times and there is nothing wrong but I can’t know that because no one will respond to me and it doesn’t say anything on the rules page about when you should expect to be able to get a contest. So, as far as I can tell, my subscription fee has been paid and I am getting nothing. I would tend to think the whole app is a scam except from what I see online and on Apple it appears to be legit. I am completely baffled.

Spending Money But Nothing Works
I paid for a $3 entry game tonight but didn’t receive a notification when it started even though I have the notifications on in the app and my iPhone settings so I wasted the money. Plus, I signed up for the silver subscription for $5 in order to get access to more games but whenever I click on a silver-tiered game it says it’s diamond and I can’t play. Now I’ve put in $10 for nothing. It won’t even let me change my picture or anything because it’s giving me errors so I don’t think it’s working. Normally I’d prefer to contact them directly about the issue before writing a review but their app, website, and App Store listing are missing any contact options so here I am hoping to get my money back.

Fun Games But Winning Amounts Aren’t Real
I downloaded this app a while back and have been playing for a couple years, especially for themes on TV shows I enjoy like The Office or Friends. The other day, I was delighted to see that I had placed first in a “The Office” themed game, and I won $300!! The money was added to my account immediately, and I submitted a withdrawal request. Before I knew it, almost all those winnings had been removed. I contacted the app developers and politely asked what had happened, and they said I actually only won $30. I provided them with the screenshot of my account showing that I had won $300 like the game advertised, and they told me it was just a “glitch in their tech system” and that they wouldn’t be giving me the actual amount I had won.
The games are fun and I enjoyed it for a while, but it’s a shame they lie about how much you’re actually winning (and subsequently take away your winnings after giving them to you) :(

Save your money
Don’t get me wrong, this game is an interesting concept. I put money into it to play Friends trivia. They have great questions that you won’t find anywhere else. Don’t expect to win any real money though. Set your expectations low. More often than not, just expect to lose the money you put in very slowly. I’m also still hesitant about the people I compete against and whether or not they’re real people. That is what it is though. That’s not my biggest issue with this app. My issue is the customer service. I’ve reached out on two different occasions and have yet to hear back. One of those was three months ago. Even if they’re short-staffed I should’ve heard something. I recently submitted a request to take my funds out and heard back pretty quickly. But when I sent a follow up question to that they went silent on me again. The only time I’ve seen them follow up with people is when they get a low review. I say check out other trivia games before giving this one a shot.

No longer letting me sign in
I love this app! However, yesterday I got my usual notification for a game I wanted to play but when I went to the app it had signed me out. When I tried to sign back in it keeps telling me network error. I have turned my phone on and off. I have tried a few other things as well but it keeps saying network error. This is the first time it has ever done this and I’ve used the app for awhile now.

Fake prize pools
Don’t waste your timing paying for one, only do the free ones because I was told by Trivia Bar that none of the money is guaranteed (which I obviously knew that) but said there were prize pools where it IS guaranteed but it’s NOT!! Don’t bother looking at the charts to see how much you’d make if you were to place 3rd or 5th or whatever, you’ll get $0. I spent $40 on entry fees & was guaranteed $55 and won $0 even tho I paid TWO entry fees. Definitely worth it if you’re playing the free pools but not the cash. It took me MONTHS to save up the $40 I spent on ONE game only to be back to square one. I reached out & was only told to look at the FAQ about the game instead of an apology or my $40 back. They didn’t have a response to when I questioned how first place is guaranteed but the other places after aren’t ? A person had 5 entries and took home $800 and I took home $0 when I was below them & answered faster than them too, definitely need better customer service & figure out those bugs because I’m done with this app. WASTE

The “Triviaholic” (Subscription) games are all Guaranteed. It is clearly stated that our cash game prizes are based on the amount of users entered. We sent this user to the FAQ and the Rules section in the app to show them where it is clearly posted. We actually paid out $200 more in this contest than we had in entry fees. We had a $500 to first guarantee in this contest, which was stated in the description and was paid as promised. We encourage all of our users to read the rules carefully before entering contest.
Never alerted me that the game began
Update: After posting this review I received a message from the developer and I reached out on Facebook. I was given a credit to play the office trivia and I had a nice time. Do be warned though that the amount of money in winnings can be lower depending on how many people enter.

Terrible
I can’t even get past the sign up for new users. It gives you the option to create your own password, which I initially tried to do. It kept saying the password and the confirm password didn’t match. There’s no option to see it after you put it in so I did it slowly and carefully to make sure everything matched and it still said they didn’t match. So, I decided just to use their password and it wouldn’t let me do that either. So, after trying about 10 different times I gave up and deleted the app.

HORRIBLE!
I made a simple error and instead of someone from the app confirming my information, they sent my money to the wrong person! They are telling me that there’s nothing they can do. I understand that I made an error, but someone should have confirmed my information instead of just sending my money to someone else. One time I ordered something from a different company and they had a representative reach out to me to confirm my information before sending out the order. I realized that I had my a mistake and we were able to fix it. Not trivia bar!! They just send out money without confirming information and don’t care if a mistake was made or not!!!

Our system is set up to automatically payout once a user inputs their PayPal address. Because of this, we are the #1 fastest payout of any game of skill company. Unfortunately, if a user inputs the wrong email address on their end and the payment has been accepted through PayPal, there’s nothing we can do. We can’t just take the funds from someone’s PayPal account. It is the users responsibility to confirm their own information before submitting a payout. Although we do understand the frustration, there was and is nothing we can do on our end. Had you not blocked the chat, we would have given you a courtesy credit so you could play again.
Needs to improvement
Seems like the developers only reply to the good reviews and ignoring how many people have an issue with the multiple entries that makes the whole game so unfair. If they cared enough they would fix this issue. You replied to my review, but you are wrong most of the people do not like that multiple entries. It’s 100% UNFAIR. GET RID OF THE MULTIPLE ENTRIES

Can’t be sure.
I honestly can’t tell if this is a legit paying app or not. Spent over $25 on a few different quizzes. Didn’t win a single cent on any because the first 10 entries were owned by 1 person. Then the second owned 8 entry’s. It’s so DISHEARTENING for first timers. There seriously shouldn’t be multiple entries. It’s just steering people away because what’s the point if the first winner takes everything with so many entry’s. I think you’d be more popular if you gave people an actual fighting chance. I Will give it one more shot but it’s probably a delete later. What a disappointment. It’s overall a great concept and great design but poor execution.

This is such a fun app. Yes u have to pay to enter most big prize competitions but that’s just like going to bingo, sometimes you win sometimes you don’t. But the topics are a wide based range same with the difficulty levels. It’s so much fun to see what you can remember about your favorite shows or movies and even music too!!! Definitely give this app 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Won’t allow me to verify email
So I can’t even bother to try this app because I made an account and it says I need to go to my email and open the link to verify it and make my account. Ok cool easy enough, right? Yeah right! I go to my email, open the link to verify my account, and all it does is give me an error. I try to log in with the credentials I made and it says I need to verify my account. I keep trying.. and trying.. and trying. And NOTHING. I get nowhere with it

Not a scam, but still problems
The positives first: this is a legit app. You absolutely can win money from it, and they do pay out, pretty much immediately. They had some technical issues that didn’t surprise me as a new app, but great customer service in response.
Aside from a couple minor things that are really just my preference (hate that you can’t change your answer even if there’s time left), I have two major issues:
1. The amount of entries they allow one user to purchase in a contest. I have answered every single question correctly on a quiz, placing fifth based on time, and did not win anything because the four people in front of me bought 75 entries between them What’s the point in even playing?
2. Some of these users seem to be bots, at least that is my assumption based on the speed of responses. I don’t see how a person could physically be capable of answering 30 questions in 32 seconds, yet two did it in the same quiz. Significant drop back after that, with third place taking 45 seconds. The only thing I can think of is a bot. Again, why even bother at that point?
Overall, I think the app is a great idea. It’s definitely been fun to use. But considering the downsides I’m not willing to put up my money to continue playing.

I have screenshots showing how they ripped me off
This game is a great idea in theory if it weren’t a total hustle. How do you place 58th when there is supposedly only 22 ENTRIES. The app glitches constantly and will mark the incorrect number of correct answers. Instead of taking down the game to try to fix it they instead let it rip off their users. The app creator is incredibly rude and refuses to acknowledge the people with complaints. Instead throwing insults. When you enter a contest you will get a perfect score yet beat out by someone with 20-50 entries, is that the scam… no. The scam is playing multiple games where the number of ENTRIES not entrants is listed as one number that actually played. Then they blame it on your internet, even though you closed out the app multiple times and took screenshots over the course of a half hour. You will waste your money if you play this game. Bet.

I’ve never made $165 so fast!
Quick, easy, and a great variety of content! No zoom calls/ video like other trivia games I’ve played online — and that’s great for those with social anxiety! An easy-to-use app and gameplay interface. Only ten minutes out of your day to play one game of thirty multiple-choice questions (15 seconds to answer each); perfectly manageable for this mom of three at the end of the day! And I can enter multiple games at once because all of the answers transfer simultaneously. Who said knowing tons of movie trivia doesn’t pay?

Horrible Customer Service
I entered a trivia and should of placed to win a pretty good cash amount. They had a glitch on their end and admitted it was their fault and I should have received more money. At first they said I would get my money. I didn’t hear anything for a while so I reached back out, they said they couldn’t give me the prize money anymore since the program already gave the prize money to someone else… I would attach the conversation if the review would of let me.

Amazing App!! Totally legit!!
This app is awesome! I have been able to make some serious side cash with this app! I am currently in-between jobs so this app has helped me out a TON! After winning trivia games on some of my favorite topics like Harry Potter, Friends, and the Office, I got my cash immediately (within SECONDS) and was able to transfer it to my PayPal (also within SECONDS) and then transfer it to my bank. Easy as pie! To anyone feeling worried that this app is a scam, it’s not. There are contests in which people can enter multiple times for more chances to win $$, which is not a bad thing in my opinion! Like I said, being able to enter these quizzes has helped me have a real side hustle that is fun and easy! Anytime there has been technical errors, the Trivia Bar team notified us immediately, and let us know they were working to fix it. And any time I contacted them they were quick to respond! I definitely recommend this app and my family and friends have been amazed that I’ve been able to make side cash doing this!
