Good events, well organized
I’ve been to several of the wings nights and have really enjoyed them - meeting 10 new people over great conversation. Yes, we pay a fee to attend, but for that fee a lot of organization goes into it, costs of running the app, all of which takes time, so it’s fair to pay a fee to attend a well organized event.
I attended the first hike today and it was great - a trail I’ve never been to and met a new group to hang out with.
Turning up on time is expected which is good so the event can kick off as planned. I’m very glad to have joined and now a part of this group

Worst organiser ever
The man cannot be reasonable
They tried to fleece over margins
The app is fine, the people are good. But the management is trying is fleece people over margins. I mean they charged me $84 for being late for not even a minute (seconds) they rip off money over margins. THEY ARE FRAUD. STAY AWAY FROM
Organizer is a BULLY
The events organizer Brad is consistently rude, pushy, and basically a bully. In addition to scamming for money of course. Read others reviews here. AVOID AT ALL COST
Beware - fraudulent charges
Such a disappointing experience. We arrived for our pickleball game less than 5 minutes late (snowstorm and we were unaware that there were 2 Hillhurst community centres within 5 mins of each other). Organizer, Brad, was incredibly rude and immature, barking at us to sign in, and directing us to join games with experienced players even though we explained we had never played before (so grateful to the players who were kind and patient enough to show us the ropes). We were charged cancellation fees equal to the participation fees and he has not responded to multiple messages requesting a refund. Really loved my first coffee morning event though his repeatedly texting me privately after that made me quite uncomfortable.

Scam!
Be aware that Brad, the organizer, charges a $80 fee for being late. Don’t save your credit details in the app as the charges happen automatically if you are not checked in by the game start time. He will argue that you signed the waiver and he won’t return your money. If you check in, even 1 minute late, the system will charge you automatically. Not even a 5 minute rule is available. This is a scam!

Great app
A fantastic app for getting out and meeting new people.
I appreciate the organization and the fact that games are well organized. Yes there is a no show fee which can seem steep but in all fairness it does solicit people to commit and show up to events and games so the activity does not get cancelled.
I appreciate all the great people I’ve met through these Volleyball games and other social events I’ve done.

An excellent app for finding local events and meeting people in Calgary. Simple, useful, and genuinely helps you get involved and get out.
Every event cost money
Why is he charging money for every event??? So but last time I checked going to a pub is free. Or a small amount at the door. Or going out to eat??? Why would anyone pay??? I’ll pay the restaurant when I get my bill
Rude Customer Service
I was unsure if there is any way to post our own events on this app, so I messaged the only “contact us” number shown, saying text us please. I texted asking if there is a way to post events, and explained that I am a local musician. The very first text back I receive “First off I have no clue who you are and what you want to promote or anything you’re very vague” followed up immediately with “If you’re not gonna answer us above, we’re not gonna work with you or do anything so have a great rest of your day”. It then carried on from there in a rude manner…. Last time I checked, I don’t owe any personal information until I feel comfortable enough to share it and engage in a discussion.

Super uncomfortable experiences
I was excited to use this app. It looks easy to use. However, when trying to join the WhatsApp group I had to jump through a bunch of hoops just to get into one. Only to find out it’s not even a communication group. You can’t say anything. There is a Facebook page as well which you are encouraged to participate in. Everyone says hello with a photo to which Brad responds “did you get the app?” Even after most people mention the app. There isn’t any communication from any members other than that. All it is are posts from Brad, the exact ones shared in WhatsApp.
Speaking of Brad, he is one of the most organized but intense people you will ever meet. At one of the events I went to we were told to grab our gear and pick our teams. At which time Brad grabbed all the gear and gave it to people then dictated who was going to be on which team. We were told how to play, where to go, and what to do. It was barely any fun. Even when we were just sitting around talking he took over everyone’s conversations and interrupted people in the middle of a sentence.
Finally, the prices. I understand registration fees. I understand if someone cancels without enough time that you don’t get your money back. What I don’t understand is a fee on top of your deposit and how the registration fee gets decided. One event was $12 more expensive than if I went with friends. So, if 13 people register that’s $156 going straight to Brad? It’s not clear what you’re paying for.
Communication between members is not encouraged. I suppose that’s because this is a business and if we plan things without Brad, he doesn’t make any money.

So glad i joined this group, lots of amazing people from all walks of life. Been to a couple of events and the experience of fun hit home ☺️. Can’t wait for the next one when i get the chance again. Thanks to the organizers, doing a good job of bringing people together.
