Great food, pointless app.
I have to start out by saying that I love the gold. With that said, this app is almost completely useless without the ability to edit deliveries like you can on the website. They allow you to add things to or cancel a delivery, so why not add the ability to edit? Also, stop showing lunches and dinners on the same line. You separate out every other meal category, why not those two?

fav of all the meal delivery services I’ve tried
I’m on my third day and pleasantly surprised by how good all of the food is. as a picky eater who hates cooking and struggles to get enough fruit & veg, this has been amazing so far. I used to get recipe kits delivered but I generally didn’t like the food enough to go through the effort of prepping it, so all the produce would rot in my fridge. so far this feels like the easiest way to eat consistently healthy! only complaints 1) a meal was missing and the support chatbot sucks, and 2) the delivery driver left the food outside on the curb at 5am (I had included a gate code in my address to bring it inside the compound). luckily it didn’t get stolen but I might have to cancel if future deliveries aren’t reliable.

Food is good, app is bad
This app is horrible. I have skipped meals and it doesn’t care and delivers them anyway. This happened twice now and I can’t get anyone in customer service to even help me. They need major upgrades to their app.
Nutritious
I love the variety. The fiber content. The ease of preparation. Fresh ingredients. Flavorful. The best I have ever had in my experienced reality.
UI a little confusing
The UI on the app is a bit overwhelming, but it’s easier to see information compared to the web phone version.
Login error
The app always shows a login error and I’ve not been able to manage my account via mobile at all. Super inconvenient.
Multiple midnight deliveries
As a busy professional, I relied on thistle for healthy meals for about a yeah and half, and had a few initial bumps: occasional mistake in the meals. But the delivery issues lately made it untenable for me to continue with Thistle. They are frequently late delivering based on their estimates. That’s not necessarily a problem if the delivery still stays in a reasonable window (the stated window is 7-10pm). I made a note that I really can’t accept food deliveries after 10pm. They are frequently running as late as midnight. On a Sunday night, a fresh food delivery at midnight is very disruptive—I have early Mondays for work and a flimsy paper/cloth cooler bag might not keep the fresh food at the right chilled temperature if left out overnight. So I have to stay up for their hours late deliveries. Additionally, the time will keep moving: it’s 10pm, no, 10:30, no 11pm, no 11:30pm, no 11:50pm… and the customer service is mediocre. Just can’t do it anymore as much as I like the food

Waste of money and resources
Food is meh, everything is packaged in non-recyclable plastic, and driver refused to take bags on my last delivery so now I’m stuck with 5(!) bags and all the ice packs too. Customer “service” refused to have a driver stop by to pick up all this trash so I canceled and closed my account. I regret trying Thistle. I won’t be back.

Worst service ever
I never go out of my way to write reviews but this has been such a horrible experience. The first time I ever use this and I had two deliveries scheduled one on Sunday and the other on Wednesday. The Sunday delivery was missing half of my meals! And the Wednesday delivery didn’t arrive at all! Would not recommend at all

The best of all the meal services I’ve tried!
I’ve tried a few meal services and meal kit/recipe box services. I have a restrictive diet since I can’t eat gluten. Love that Thistle has so many gluten free options and the food itself is super fresh, very tasty and healthy. Having two deliveries a week is awesome because it allows for this freshness. Greens are crispy, proteins are tender, it’s really miles above companies like Factor and healthier than CookUnity. Occasionally they miss items and their customer support is kind of hard to get in touch with because of their very bad ai chatbot. But otherwise happy with them!

Moved from LA to Austin — still hoping Thistle expands here
Former Thistle customer here. I recently moved from Los Angeles to Austin and was surprised to find that Thistle still isn’t available here.
I would immediately resume my subscription if Austin delivery became available.
Austin has one of the strongest wellness, fitness, and plant-forward food communities in the country. The customer base Thistle targets is very much here — yoga studios, tech professionals, active lifestyles, and people looking for convenient, healthy prepared meals.
Right now many of us are using other services simply because Thistle isn’t an option.
If Thistle launched in Austin, I’m confident there would be strong demand immediately. I would sign back up right away, and I know many others who would as well.
Please consider Austin for a future expansion.

App doesn’t work
Waste
Not reliable.
They will just move your delivery to the next day, an hour before delivery window. With a text apology of driver shortages your delivery is tomorrow. No does this work? They will let you cancel your subscription but not the late delivery even though it’s not being delivered. Because the app still shows it being delivered on time.

App update is…. not it
App was pretty bad before… the new update doesn’t help at all. Take a page from some of the other meal delivery services, they’ve got it figured out. Food is actually really good when everything is correct… missed opportunity.
Don’t like new app
The food and delivery is great. What I find really annoying now is it’s now super hard to manage my skips. I travel a lot and I can’t receive food every week. Now I have to navigate through many food photos to find hidden buttons/ menu to skip. Not all in one place but for each half week. It used to be much easier to manage my deliveries, and I don’t like that this is being hidden and made hard to find this functionality

New app is great
I been getting thistle meals for about a year and they are top quality. The new app is so easy to use and you can review the nutrition information quickly. Also easy to pick your dishes each week, add on extras, and even skip a week with no hassle.
By far the best meal delivery service
I tried so many meal delivery options and nothing compares to thistle. The food quality I beyond impressive, no gluten, no dairy, the variety is there and the salads are a key part of my work day routine from home. This new app is gorgeous and such a better user experience. Easiest five stars I’ve ever given.

This food is a lifesaver
The new app just made everything I love about Thistle even better. It’s so easy to use and I love seeing all the options available every week! This is one of the few apps I use regularly and on a weekly basis. And the food is delicious!!
New app navigation needs work
Managing deliveries with this new app update just got much harder. The interface is not intuitive and I found myself getting frustrated trying to navigate between weeks to update deliveries and change meals. Consider user testing this please to make improvements.
Terrible app updates
The new app is horrible to use. It takes way longer to pick out meals than it used to. It’s so cluttered and requires a lot more clicking and scrolling. I also have no desire to make separate selections for protein every single time I make a selection when I only ever want the plant based choice. It’s also more difficult to keep track of pricing and what you’re getting each week.
