Very bad service. I have not been able to make any transactions for the past 5 days due to a glitch that tide cannot fix. I have also now been locked out of my main account and unable to invoice or see my balance or do anything. Customer service is not helpful at all and they don’t even have a dedicated technical team that can be contacted to resolve the Matter and focus more on excuses rather than solutions. If I can rate the service 0 stars I would. Very unhappy with this company.

Terrible onboarding experience

Terrible onboarding experience. I started my application on August 5th and have been caught in an endless loop of repetitive information requests ever since. Despite promptly answering every call and in-app message (Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and a midnight message!), I am still waiting for an update days later. If this is the level of customer service and internal communication I can expect before even opening an account, I'd rather take my business elsewhere.

Slow cannot sign in and load account

Brilliant app but with the latest update signing in takes forever or doesn’t work at all.

Wouldn’t recommend

Very bad customer service and always trying to get extra money from you for any services.

Worst Bank

They blocked my incoming payment and customer service is very poor, they are holding my incoming payment since 3 days and not releasing it despite providing ll evidences

Reliable, Fun & User-Friendly

I’ve really enjoyed using this app. It’s fun, easy to navigate, and makes managing both my personal and business banking simple and convenient.
It’s made banking much more enjoyable and hassle-free. Highly recommended!

Terrible!

Our complaint against Tide was partially upheld due to very poor communication. They also de-banked us with no reason and we had no right of reply. Customer service is very bad. Currently all our money has been taken and we have no idea where it is! Beyond terrible.

Invoice limit

Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a monthly limit on invoices is insane.
It also doesn’t let you check your contacts and edit them which is strange.

1 Star – Fast to start with, but reliability matters far more when your business grows

When I started my businesses, Tide was exactly what I needed. It was quick to set up, inexpensive to use and ideal for getting new companies up and running. For a start-up, those are huge advantages.

However, once your business finds its feet, you realise that speed of opening an account and low fees are nowhere near as important as having a banking provider you can rely on.

Unfortunately, our experience with Tide has been one of the most disruptive experiences we’ve ever had with a financial provider.

Without any prior notice, Tide simultaneously froze and then closed the accounts for six separate limited companies within our group. These are legitimate UK businesses operating across a range of different sectors, all of which immediately lost the ability to send or receive payments.

The impact was immediate and severe. Payroll, commercial rent, supplier payments and customer receipts were all put at risk overnight. There was no notice period, no opportunity to prepare and no ability to transition our banking in an orderly manner.

Had Tide simply given reasonable notice that they no longer wished to provide banking services, we could have opened replacement accounts and transferred our Direct Debits, standing orders, customer payment details, supplier records and accounting processes with minimal disruption. Instead, we have been left with days of unnecessary administration, rebuilding payment schedules, updating banking details across multiple businesses and informing customers, suppliers and other organisations of new account details—all because the accounts were closed with immediate effect.

What has been particularly disappointing is the lack of meaningful communication. Every attempt to understand the reason for the closures has been met with generic template responses stating that Tide “cannot support certain types of businesses.” This explanation simply doesn’t align with the facts. Our companies operate across multiple industries, yet every account was closed at the same time. When we asked whether this was a decision relating to one company, a particular business activity or our overall relationship with Tide, those questions went unanswered.

I fully appreciate that banks may, in certain circumstances, be unable to disclose the detailed reasons behind account closures. However, there is a significant difference between being unable to provide a reason and repeatedly responding with vague, generic statements that fail to address reasonable questions.

To Tide’s credit, they have processed the return of our remaining balances, and I hope every affected customer receives their funds within the timescales promised.

However, the way these closures have been handled has completely destroyed our confidence in Tide as a banking provider. No business should have to discover, without warning, that it can no longer pay staff, pay rent or receive customer funds because every account has been frozen and closed simultaneously.

My advice to anyone considering Tide is this: it’s a great option when you’re just starting out and need a quick, low-cost business account. But as your business grows and reliability becomes critical, think very carefully about whether you want your entire operation dependent on a provider that can withdraw banking facilities without notice, leaving you to deal with the operational consequences.

Best thing ever

Very efficient and so easy to use

Awful Layout

This app has always felt like a slow web app and now the layout is awful.
Finally they keep changing the saving interest rates to the point where I am thinking about putting all my business savings with Virgin and switching to Starling

My tide business account

After creating my business and a number of enquiries I decided to start my business account with Tide Bank.
I have not looked back - Tide are responsive and feel always by my side every day for my business needs
Thank you

Definitely Recommend to New Business Owners

Tide is has all the tools that are very ideal for people who are starting in business or owning a company, as well as experienced professionals in self employment

so many adds

app mainly is an upsell app you have to have. finding support in tide is very difficult

Worst thing ever

Saw good reviews and opened a business ac to get a loan from banks but they froze my account and im stuck. No one to help customer services is awful. As soon as i get the money ill close and leave tide

Could be better

On the accounts side of things it is over complicated to use the quotes feature and for invoicing it doesn’t allow you to apply tax reduction for CIS or reverse charge VAT. You can’t amend a quote once sent which is also quite annoying if something changes on a job.

Don’t waste your time. You will have headache from day 1

You have been warned. Useless, don’t touch this so called bank, closes your account without any notice.
They ask for information, which I provide, took them 3+ months to review. Who does that I don’t know. Maybe a 3 year old from kindergarten ???
