Tikkun Chatzot

There is no good time to wake for Tikkun Chatzot, and no obvious one either. Chatzot halayla moves every night, differs by where you are, and is almost never midnight on the clock. This app removes that problem. Set your location once. Every night it works out chatzot for exactly where you are, wakes you at it, and has the text waiting when you get up. THE RIGHT TIME, WHEREVER YOU ARE Chatzot halayla is calculated as twelve hours after chatzot hayom, the reckoning of the Baal HaTanya (Shulchan Aruch HaRav, Hashkamat HaBoker 1:8). The app shows the whole derivation — sunrise, sunset, chatzot hayom, chatzot halayla — so you can check it against your own luach rather than take it on faith. A NIGHTLY ALERT AT THAT TIME, AND ONLY THAT TIME One notification a night. It knows which nights Tikkun Rachel is not recited — Shabbat, Yom Tov, Rosh Chodesh, the month of Nisan, Chanukah — and tells you why.
