Update has ruined the app
Update 7/23/26; I am not able to bypass the ads. I’ve used this app for over 10 years and occasionally I can’t swipe through the ads because it wants me to buy a version of the app without ads which I will not be doing. Always find it interesting when a company takes a good thing and ruins it.

Timehop is the only app I use every day and I've always looked forward to it. The last update however has turned a bright spot in the day to an annoyance. The pictures are so zoomed in and I feel like I have to fight with the screen so much to see one picture that it's not even worth it to scroll through my entire history for that day. The whole structure of the app has changed in a very bad way.
I applaud the ingenuity and trying to stay fresh, but this update has been awful.

Don’t update!
The new update is rubbish! I can no longer see which platform my memories are from, can’t hide them (or at least not easily, I can’t see the option anymore) and it’s harder to figure out how to do a ‘then and now’ etc as it’s now all logos and not words. Put it back to how it was! 😡
New Ads Make It Unusable
Been using Timehop for a few years now, it was great at what it did - resurfaced memories. The most recent update, however, makes the app a nightmare. Ads every 3 photos? And we have to wait several seconds on each one before clicking through? Seriously Timehop? What are we even doing anymore

Love this app but when I’m looking at photos of my family chat ads pop up, with some “lonely” women showing there asses and tits. Not ideal

Used this app for years now part of the 8 year club, and seriously considering deleting this app, I get ads are needed, but the update that forces to you to linger on an add now is incredibly frustrating and also some of the ads are basically just porn, very inappropriate and weird, some of them ai generated, just very off putting, please fix this issue

To many Ads
The app was great but the new update made it much harder to flip through and you get stuck on adds trying to move on for to long. Makes me not want to check the app anymore. Was free and now they want you to pay $12 a month for no ads. I’ll be deleting this app.
Why is this app getting worse?.?
3280 day streak I am on the verge of deleting the app. Was able to scroll though the past with no issues. Now every 3 or 4 pics an ad comes up and all of a sudden you have to wait for the ad to load then swipe, opp nope still not swiping. So the frustration of being forced to look at an ad that refuses to clear has caused me to consider deleting the app. Love seeing the memories but not enough to deal with constant glitches with ads.

Why is showing photos from 1 year ago the day before and not today? It does this everyday so it’s not like I don’t have photos from today.
What happened?
I’ve used this app daily for over 9 years. It’s fun to see all of my memories and watch my daily count go up. This new update doesn’t show the count…just first two digits. What’s up with that?

Used to love the app but now it’s a money grab
I’ve been using Timehop daily for years, it’s a part of my daily routine to look back at memories. Now the app freezes when it gets to the first ad and it looks like the only way to get rid of it is to pay $40/yr. Not sure who in their right mind would pay that to a company that doesn’t even host their photos. Deleting the app and I’ll just look at my pictures on my own instead.

Advertisements are becoming painful
3191 days in a row I have opened up Timehop. The advertisements have become excessive and delaying my ability to scroll through the past. Sometimes I am rushed and I do not have time to look at each one, but I have tried to maintain my consecutive days of opening and reviewing the pictures. This is about to end because of the delays caused by the advertisements.

HATE THE UPDATE!!!
You seriously ruined a good thing. I HATE the new update for various reasons. First, why are all the pics zoomed in? Why do the collections of pics scroll through so quickly? You're likely to give someone a seizure!! Now I also can't read corresponding comments from past posts!!! Why? That's the whole point of reliving the past post, right? Congratulations! You've single handedly ruined one of my favorite apps in one single update. Go back to the old version or I will just delete it. Seriously!! Fix it!!!

Now with the new paid option, I have lost access to my FB memories. The Ads make it impossible to skip and I lost my original streak because the App failed to notify me for some time and now I have to start all over. Lost the dopamine rush because of it. Not fun anymore.

I absolutely love this app! Every day it brings back wonderful memories from one year ago to over twelve years ago.
