No print view format, does not encourage users to use the full app for few days before paying for subscription
Paid Subscription for One Year but No Service
I am writing this as a highly dissatisfied customer of the Times of India e-paper subscription. I paid for this service expecting full and uninterrupted access, but the experience has been extremely disappointing. For the first 3–4 days, the application worked properly, but for the past 3 days, I am receiving only half articles, with the remaining content hidden or inaccessible. Additionally, all tabs in the application have become completely inactive and unresponsive, making navigation impossible. I raised this issue via email but received only a vague response asking me to “wait,” with no actual solution provided. I even contacted your team on WhatsApp and followed the suggestion to use a VPN, but the problem still persists. This clearly reflects poor service quality and lack of effective customer support. As a paying subscriber, I feel completely cheated and let down by your service. The e-paper is currently unusable, which defeats the entire purpose of subscribing. I expect an immediate resolution to this issue along with appropriate compensation or extension for the period of service failure. If this is not addressed promptly, I will be compelled to discontinue the subscription and escalate the matter further.

Subscription not working. it’s CHEATING
Don’t subscribe. You won’t be able to read ePaper with a 1999/ year subscription as mentioned here. They don’t honour what is promised. I am looking elsewhere. Disappointing to see a national news paper cheating people like this.

I have had an active subscription for about a year now. Despite renewal, the app asks me to subscribe.
App shows subscription errors
Many times the app says that i don’t have an actual subscription despite having one, sometimes logging in again fixes this issue but mostly it doesn’t work. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Sad that the largest newspaper in the world, based in a country with a million IT professionals, cant build a decent app
Very buggy UI
Every other day, the app shows that I do not have a subscription or that my current plan does not have ePaper access even though I have a plan which supports ePaper . Upon restarting the app multiple times, it goes away but it is very irritating.

Always ask for subscription needed . It's money down the drain and probably a scam . Do not subscribe. I would gladly give negative stars if the option is available. Sent an email to them. No responsibility
Crooked application deserving minus ratings
I have a valid 2 years, despite this, just a year into my subscription, I am getting daily pop ups to renew my subscription and other irritating pop up. I have to stop reading the newspaper for that day or wait for 6 hours till the news is stale before launching the application. I am not going to renew my subscription after this. 😡

Paid but can’t access ePaper
Paid full subscription but unable to read the paper — keeps asking to subscribe again. Very disappointing and frustrating experience.
Inconsistent behaviour
The app is not stable. Inspite of having a valid subscription often asks to renew subscription and the entire access to paper is stopped
TOI app for iPad
Why app is removed and replaced with ePaper app. Please restore the app and keep link for ePaper as before.

They charge a subscription fee to read their newspaper.. but do not invest in their app ! App hangs frequently, The next button goes missing!

Apathy towards subscribers
I have taken early subscriptions for TOI. When I open it (iPhone), the app again suggests for subscriptions. And when go ahead with it, just to check , it suggests further. It says , you are already a subscriber with an option to go back. And when I go back, it again suggests for subscriptions. Running in loop. I wrote to TOI team, got the acknowledgement but nothing beyond that. Same thing is happening time and again. Not able to read it.

Charging money for a news paper in India is all time low. Btw I get the print version delivered at home.
