So clever and enjoyable!
I grabbed this game weeks ago on a whim and expected to be underwhelmed (simply because it's hard to find solid games right now). BUT, the gameplay was so much fun and the dialogue was very witty! Many times, I laughed out loud from the numerous subtle and not-so-subtle gaming references! I thoroughly enjoy this game and highly recommend giving it a try!

AMAZING
I almost never write reviews, but i had to for this game. It is SO FUN! Each of the characters is unique and its fun to try out different combinations. The permanent upgrades feel useful but not overpowered. The story is amazing and had me hooked all the way up until the end! I bought the patrons edition and now am just patiently waiting for second pass studies to make another game.

Wonderful
The game is a nice, casual, engaging playthrough. The monetization isn’t bad, with unobtrusive ads, but with the option to pay $6 to get rid of them entirely, which I did fairly quickly. Really good stuff overall.
Never seen a game so such a hard flip before
It’s actually kinda impressive ngl, originally I reviewed this game claiming that it had a good based but needed more variety to make runs feel different, then out of no where, the devs decided to introduce a bunch of things that have now flipped my major complaint around, now things feel to random instead of having a handful of upgrades for each character, you can now kinda just get whatever upgrades the system felt like giving you, and there’s not really a consistent way to get items to refine your skill's
If the devs are reading this, place back some of the limits the older builds have, maybe make it so only certain characters can get x skill, and give some unique upgrades to said skills that only certain characters can have (like maybe the paladin can upgrade the all class heal to give shields, while the fish dude can upgrade it to give a buff that applies poison to the next attacker of the recipient of the heal, stuff like that)

Balancing issues
So I love this game and been playing it quite a bit but I’ve notice some issues with the balancing.
1. Very difficult to make a good team build because of the amount of RNG with loot and upgrades
The amount of rng involved is insane and if you don’t get even 1 move or 1 upgrade or 1 specific piece of loot your entire run will go no where ESPECIALLY on the later Timewreck catagories where you won’t even get past zone 1 if your unlucky
2. Bleed vs Poison
If your trying to run bleed you need multiple loot to make it as good vs poison where you don’t need much at all
Bleed needs legendary loot like fragments of the leech (which keep in mind just makes it as good as poison is naturally) or vampire teeth and several savannah upgrades like so bloody and keep in mind you’ll also need to get several moves like triple hit aswell as slayer and blood ritual
Vs poison where Jaxson naturally comes with focus application and contagion which is literally the most broken skill in the game Rng is less punishing for him because unlike savannah or cass most of his moves give poison You also don’t need a legendary loot to even run poison (but the loot for poison is good with mold mask and poison mushroom making cass deal 15 poison with ONE skill)
Overall I think there should definitely be a way for you to refill your upgrades or loot in game or maybe have the loot change to what ur using rn because the rng is genuinely unbearable

This my first time ever writing a review and I felt so obligated to write one about this game because of how underrated the game is. It is literally everything you want in a mobile rpg game and the possibilities are endless. DARE I SAY THE BEST MOBILE GAME

Worth it!
Simple, yet has many permutations. Worth the time! The only downside is that they stopped any further development on this game and so they no longer look at the Discord discussion group to answer any questions.

This game is ok but the fact that it stopped getting updated within a year of coming out is pretty sad. Plus there’s really not much content so it gets boring really fast. Has potential but definitely doesn’t live up to it.

Really enjoying the game! Having a lot of fun with the gameplay loop and the lack of a paywall for anything. There is a one time add free purchase that I got to support the creators but it hasn’t seemed necessary to enjoy the game. I did join the discord, which is dead for about a year and there was a post that said the game would not be developed further. It’s still a lot of fun but I hope they return to the project at some point!

Very fun and balanced combat system.
One bug: Clear-headed perk does not prevent interrupts like it is supposed to, I had Ben Thayer’s stuff still get interrupted when using the perk.

Deserves a writing award (gameplay is fun, too!)
I play a lot of deck builder roguelikes and this is a stand-out title. “Deck building” has been simplified but it still keeps all the fun elements of trying to build epic combos. The writing is excellent and the dialogue is funny. You repeat the story many times, but each time you can make new choices and it weaves them together coherently. The art is enjoyable and easy to look at for hours on end. The UX it well thought out and hardly ever frustrating. Everything you need to know is accessible or on screen (usually).

Tedious gameplay

Get this game!
It’s the perfect phone RPG. I love big, deep RPGs, but the problems I usually have with them on mobile ports are that 1. The controls are usually pretty clunky and 2. big epic games are usually too complicated and cumbersome to jump in and out of to be really enjoyable on mobile, especially when I only have a few minutes at a time to play. This game, however, offers quick chunks of gameplay that are deep and varied enough to make the combat infinitely fun on multiple play throughs. The narrative is great, and the writing is genuinely hilarious. I’ve beaten this game a few times, but it’s still fun to come back to.

great game. lots of funny dialogue and combat is actually interesting and keeps you on your toes. having said that, i hope the devs go bankrupt and never make another game in their life. forcing people to watch ads just to play the game is essentially torturing players in an attempt to coerce them to pay money to stop doing it. you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
