Can’t find products

Pretty terrible search function. Wanted to add simple item to my list: the search for fresh garlic bulbs turned up 588 items, none of which were garlic. Onions sure, but not garlic. Chives also gave me 100s of items, none of which were chives. Resorted to using my local grocery store app.

Never know when TraderJoes is releasing new or limited items. So it’s nice to know what’s out before heading to the store

Not very useful

It’s more of a hit and miss information app nothing more as it states love more of what seems to be a popular product right now. Would love if Trader Joe’s finally came out with an actual app where you can see what’s in stock , recipes, where you can get the list of products you need for your meal right in the app as a shopping list and the can shop. And place a pick up order and pick it up during time slots. It would be so beneficial for most customers with work and everyday life as well as help with stores getting rushed at certain times and being packed in an already small not best store layout for high volume of customers and feeling like a stuffed can of sardines. Other ten that it’s a great store you see what ur paying wi store easy to keep track of cost just get very overwhelming before you make it mid store due to how packed it is during certain times frams and most people don’t even try to finish you just want air to you rather then finish shopping just pay and hope to finish another day. I just feel it would be very very beneficial for all involved whether it’s the business, employees and customers .

Useless

I honestly don’t understand the point of this app. On every single item it says something like “estimate only - price may change, item may be out of stock, or discontinued or not available at your store.” Absolutely useless.

Thank you for the feedback. Product availability and pricing can vary significantly from one Trader Joe’s store to another, which is why we try to be transparent about those limitations. TJ Near & Hot is a fan-built app focused on helping shoppers discover popular products, recipes, and community insights, and we continue to improve it based on user feedback and requests.

Location needed

You have to enable your location to be able to find a store, you can’t just search for one by address or zip code.

ZIP code and address search were recently added based on user requests, but I hadn't considered that users should also be able to search for stores without enabling location services. As a solo developer, feedback like this helps shape future updates, and I'll look into improving that experience. Thanks for taking the time to share it.

Ok, but needs features

The app is ok, but it really should have the option to add new products or request them. I like that I’m able to keep track of some classic items I love but there’s so much new stuff TJs adds that isn’t available on this app yet. Bummer, this app has potential since there is no official TjS app.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback — really appreciate it. You’re right that new products can show up in stores quickly. We actually add new items ourselves on an ongoing basis, but we try to wait until there’s enough consistency before listing them, since availability can vary a lot early on. We’ve also chosen not to open up product submissions so we can keep the data more consistent and reliable over time. As for older or discontinued items, we keep them visible because people still actively discuss and revisit past favorites. That said, we understand this can make it harder to tell what’s currently in stores, and we’re looking into better ways to distinguish those. Really appreciate you calling this out — and glad you see the potential.

Account and Sign-In Required

I was hoping to use this app to search products at my local TJ and create a shopping list, which appear to be functions. However, while the description plainly says “no sign in” and “no account” required, I cannot create a list without signing in. Glitch or intentional? If the former, pls correct; if the latter, change your description as it is false and misleading. Also, I can’t identify my “default store,” which would be helpful from a searching perspective.

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback — this is a fair point. You’re right that the wording around “no account required” can be confusing. The app can be used without signing in for browsing and liking products, but creating Shopping Lists requires an account so they can be saved and accessed across devices. We’ve updated the description to make this clearer, and appreciate you calling it out. Regarding the “default store,” we’d love to understand more about what you’re expecting. Are you looking for a way to set a preferred store for search or product context? If you’re open to sharing more details, we’d be happy to consider this for a future update. HORRIBLE APP

Ads on the bottom of page constantly, and when you search for items like “ice cream” it will give you things like “creamy cheese”. Whoever they hired to develop this app, needs fired and they need to redesign it from the ground up..

Inaccurate location , very poorly designed

Never gives accurate location gives me a store 17 miles away when there is one 2 miles from my home .

Hi there, Thanks for pointing this out. In earlier versions, the app only used publicly available store addresses, which meant some locations were missing. I’ve since added more Trader Joe’s stores manually — including those that didn’t have location info published before. While I can’t show every new opening or closure in real time, I’ll keep updating the list regularly so it’s as accurate as possible and less confusing for users. Glitchy app

I wanted to scroll to look at what products they have and every time I scroll down it glitches and goes to the top of the page.

No Fearless Flyer

What’s the point of this app without the fearless flyer. Also too many popup ads. Just a waste of space on my phone

Hi EmmeMagnolia, It’s always nice to meet a fellow Fearless Flyer fan! While not all TJ fans follow it closely, I agree it’s a great source of inspiration. That’s why it hasn’t been the very first priority — but if you could share more about which parts of the Fearless Flyer you’d like to see in the app, I’d be happy to consider it for a future update. About the “too many popup ads” — that’s interesting, because I’ve kept ads limited to a small banner at the bottom to avoid disrupting the experience. There shouldn’t be any other pop-up ads in the app. Could you let me know more about what you’ve seen so I can check if something’s going wrong? Pop ups and scrolling

Too many pop ups. When scrolling to look at items, it freezes then sends you up- like you can’t just keep scrolling. It would be nice if you could search items by location and if items are out of stock the app would tell you that.

The pop-ups you’re seeing are system-level prompts asking for location access — they appear so the app can show nearby store info, and unfortunately, they’re not something I can control from within the app. I understand it can feel disruptive, and I really appreciate your patience with that. Also, I’m happy to share that a search feature has been added in the latest update, so you can now look up items more easily. Real-time stock tracking per store isn’t available yet, but I’m exploring how to better surface community feedback around availability. No search product feature??

We are in 2025 HOW you don’t have a search for product feature?

The entire design team should be fired. General design principles of UX/UI (that have been established for decades) were thrown out the window. This is clunky and inefficient at best.

Traders Joe’s respect yourself!

As a solo fan developer working on this in my spare time, I’ve been focusing on the essentials first, but I do plan to add search in a future update. The app was made out of love for the TJ community, with small banner ads just to help cover development costs. It’s not a commercial project — just something built for fellow fans. Low ratings can be tough for indie developers, but kind feedback and patience really help keep projects like this going. I hope you’ll consider updating your rating as the app continues to improve

Thank you for your feedback — we understand how this could be confusing. The app uses your device’s location (with permission) to help you find nearby stores and trending items. If location access is disabled or not granted, it may show results from other regions by default. Please check your device settings to ensure location access is enabled for the app. If the issue continues even with location turned on, feel free to reach out — we’d love to look into it further and make sure everything works smoothly!

Disappointed

New TJ just opened recently near me. Super excited. Been a bunch already. Searched for app like I have for all other stores I shop. Found it. Only problem is it just gives locations, a few items that are “hot” & 4 recipes (that you can’t even save and there are no measurements). Um…definitely expected more from TJ.

Just a heads-up: the store locator only includes locations with public data, and I’ve added a few manually. I'm looking into ways to let users contribute missing ones soon. Also, the app used to only show the Top 4 items in “Popular,” “New,” and “Going Fast,” but now you can browse full lists by category. Plus, the new Tried & True recipe section now lets you save favorites — and more improvements are coming. Appreciate you giving it a try. Hope you'll stay tuned as it continues to grow!

Major issue

Good part. I can find a Trader Joe’s wherever I go. Not so good. What good is a grocery store app without a search feature.
Think about it.
