Called in at the Oulton Carvery with 4 friends and had the Carvery. My friend paid, but I had a code for 25% off which I gave the waiter. My friend paid the bill, but the discount was not taken off. It was a few days later I realised, but when contacting the Carvery, they said they could not do anything about it. Not a lot of money, but the principle that mattered and the way they dealt with it was very poor.

Good choice/ selection
Chef serving and cutting the meat portion is very cheerful and attentive . Carvery meat is tender but some of the vegetables (carrots over cooked and bland) all other vegetables are just perfect as is the Yorkshire pudding. Toby gravy very thin. Overall very happy with the food and service.

Nice restaurant, lovely roast, friendly staff. Can get very busy at times but the staff do their best to have a table ready on time. Have eaten here many times. Recommended.

POOR DRIED OUT MEAT
Horrific carvery. Meat dried out and crumbling as carved. Veg looked as though it had been there since lunchtime we dined at 7pm! Roast potatoes looked as though they had been cooked at least twice. Should have realised there was an issue when they were two tables of diners!!

Ask at reception for a cool spot due to the heat and was escorted to a table on the raised section of restaurant near to the buffet area, around the corner there was a air conditioning unit that was working we asked the waitress if we could sit there but was told it was reserved for a party of ten.
While we were asking about moving, the original woman who booked us in came over to the tables that were booked for the party of ten and rearranged a table for two then escorted a couple to sit there.
We were totally disgusted and annoyed.
Food was not very good meat was ok but the rest had dried out under heating lights and lastly one of my pet hates is to be called love or lovely at the end of virtually every sentence by a complete stranger.

Disgusting meal today
We visited toby in Cardiff A470 today the meal was cold the gravy was lumpy and the beef was all fat ,we complained and were given a load of cheek in front of other customers ,Disgusting .

Tea time
I was really looking forward to my meal as we haven’t visited for a while , and I love a Tony carevery , but was very disappointed !!! The cauliflower cheese ( had no cheese ) was sloppy and tasteless , the sliced potatoe dish was over cooked , the choice of veg was poor , no carrots or sprouts . All in all I really did not enjoy my meal and it certainly wasn’t worth the £11.99 price tag . Will be some time before we return .
