I didn’t expect to like this so much but it’s wonderful.
The N5 articles I’ve read so far are all super short, so not overwhelming even though I’m not a great Japanese reader yet. I love that there is a feature for me to practice translating and that it is so easy to look up the words directly in the app and review them later as flash cards.
I work with a tutor and normally we just talk about what we did over the last week. I’m looking forward to being able to talk about something a little more varied like current events :)

Can’t get the JLPT to work .

Really sucks that every article seems to be written and/or extended by AI. Used to love this app but I just can’t trust what I’m reading anymore.

Better translations would make this app so much better
为什么朗读声选择了女声，有些新闻朗读却是男声
在设置中选择了女声朗读，但今天的两篇新闻朗读声都是男声，而且语速太快，语声细尖，听得很不舒服，为什么朗读不顺着设置的选择呢？

Great app for learning Japanese.
Easy to use and straightforward. Great also for the short bursts to study when time is short as well. Would recommend.
Translation is not loading anymore
He still really enjoy using this app in the morning cause I’ll be able to find new words and phrases, but I’m able to enjoy this is not working properly.
AI Replacing JLPT Listening Practice
I remember the JLPT practice listening test used to have real human voice conversations. It seems like they have all been replaced with AI (even old audios too). And now it’s not a good representation of the real test, cause the AI talks in monotone/clearly pronounced words. Being back the real humans conversations

It's helpful for learning Japanese.
But whenever I open a news article, my background music stops immediately. It would be great if the app didn’t interrupt music unless audio is actually played. I hope this can be fixed in a future update. Thank you!

Used to be great, now aggressive AI marketing push
I bought lifetime a while ago when todaii was a great resource.
It still is usable, but plagued by issues (text selection fights IOS system text selection constantly) and there is a very aggressive AI push going on. Floating AI functions buttons everywhere, a new premium+ tier with a regular popup, and for what? Translations and a chatbot. Guess what, *I* want to translate this stuff. Also, the news might now be AI fabricated instead of human curated.

There is a lot grammar you can learn from highlight your cursor on text you don’t know. Vocabulary all to reading.
프리미엄 가입했더니 NHK 없어졌어요
몇년 전에 몇만원 주고 영구결제를 했었고 얼마전에 ai채팅을 위해서 프리미엄 결제를 했습니다 그런데 이전에 쓰고 있던 동영상-podcast-NHK 뉴스가 없어졌습니다 매일 시간별로 3-4개씩 들을 수 있었는데 프리미엄 결제 후 아무리 찾아도 안보입니다 내용 너무 좋고 잘 쓰고 있었는데 프리미엄 결제 후 원래 쓰던 기능이 없어지는 건 좀 아니지 않나요? 혹시 오류인건지 확인 부탁드립니다

Please scroll down to the end of the tab and look for the video section there. Horrible / dissapointing
Me arrepiento terriblemente de haber pagado esta app de por vida. Un bug detrás de otro, aparentemente nadie le hizo QA a esto.
Las palabras de vocabulario están en cualquier idioma menos español, inglés, vietnamita, koreano mezclado, un desastre, cualquier IA cura el vocabulario y lo arregla en 10 minutos.
Dice que soporta múltiples dispositivos pero no sincroniza nada de uno a otro por lo cual a menos que sea para que 3 amigos compartan una sola cuenta es inútil, es como si tuviera cuentas diferentes en las compu y el teléfono.
No estamos hablando the una app de compras mal traducida, es una app de aprendizaje de lenguaje!!
I deeply regret paying for this app. One bug after another; apparently, no one did any QA on it.
The vocabulary words are in every language except Spanish, English, Vietnamese, and a mix of Korean and English—a disaster. Any AI could fix the vocabulary in 10 minutes.
It says it supports multiple devices, but it doesn't sync anything between them, so unless three friends are sharing a single account, it's useless. It's like having different accounts on my computer and phone.
We're not talking about a poorly translated shopping app; it's a language learning app!

NHK Easy News Delay
I love the app. Tomo no nikki articles are very interesting and super useful for learning all the basic kanji! Please keep them coming more often please.
Translate slow or won't load
The free version never had these slow latency issues . Once I purchase paid version this has become painfully slow or won't load at all . App is great but the fact I cannot transalte articles is a bit frustrating.
