Just all around great music app

I got this app when it first came out and it’s help me tremendously with learning scales, chords and just song structure in general. It’s very well put together and offers so much learning potential for anyone wanting to learn music and is a great app to practice if you need to brush up on music knowledge. Very much recommend

Forced Subscription

Bought Tonaly Pro about a year ago, which seems to have been removed to force subscriptions. Not cool. Also, the amount of data shared is insane. Small devs are a danger to our privacy just as much as Big Tech, since our micro-data, once combined, creates precise digital profiles. Hey dev, are you aware you will be living under the surveillance state you're helping build? Anyway, where is my Pro app?

🙌

Great app, hoping for a few additions!

Tonally has quickly become a standout tool in my music production workflow. The current feature set is fantastic, making it incredibly intuitive to map out progressions and build out track ideas. It’s genuinely a pleasure to use for songwriting.

If I could suggest a couple of updates for a future release, it would be amazing to see support for more complex voicings:
Higher Extensions: Adding 11ths and 13ths would be a game-changer for exploring deeper musical textures.

Overall, it’s an excellent app that I highly recommend, and with those few additions, it would be absolutely perfect.

Scummy

Forces you to give up a bunch of privacy issues and then the app is not free, immediately forces you to subscribe

great app

i don’t know what that 1 star review is talking about, this is a killer app that is a must have for musicians

Just need one thing

I love everything about this about and it has, almost, everything you could want for music theory. If an arpeggio finder/creator was added it would get the chef’s kiss.

Love the new custom tuning

Thank you for adding the custom alternate tunings in the latest upgrade. I play C6 Lap Steel guitar and being able to use my actual tuning makes a massive difference and makes a good app even more useful. 👏

needs more sounds

I love this app just wish the notes can play different synthesizer sounds or arpeggios, kinda like an omnichord.

Wonderful update

I’ve been using Tonaly for quite a while. It’s a great tool for learning the fretboard and practicing scales that’s been incrementally updated with features. I gotta say though, the latest fretboard updates in 3.7.5 are exactly what I’ve been hoping for to make a near perfect guitar practice tool. Love being able to see either note names or scale degree on the fretboard. Wonderful update to an already great app.

A tab for parallel modes shon simultaneously?

Love the app, been using it for about 10 years. Ive always used it to reference other modes to ionian but was wondering if its possible to display two modes simultaneously? Like two sets of dots, separately color coded, and may have the ability to set one mode as home via color choice (no extra clutter needed. Instructions in preferences tab) and the parallel mode of home would be the opposite color displaying your intervals as a palette of color as opposed to separate palettes.

Free app is very limited

Unless you pay for in-app subscriptions, this app is not quite comprehensive. Just has 1 scale

Standard notation? No guitar tab?

Can we get some color on the fretboard?

.

Requires subscription and hard to delete

Phenomenal Tool

I’m a 50year old guitarist thats played for 30+ years, always by ear. I’ve e decided to expand my music knowledge and this app has helped tremendously! Runs great on my iPhone and MacBook Pro!!! Just get it… you won’t regret it!
