About

tono is a pocket music studio inspired by classic portable synths. Play, sample, loop — all in one screen. SYNTH • 9 engines: digital, FM, pulse, string, cluster, phase, voltage, DNA and a sampler • ADSR envelope, LFO (vibrato, tremolo, wah, pan) and 6 effects: delay, reverb, drive, bit crusher, chorus, telephone • Presets plus your own saved sounds • Arpeggiator with 4 modes and a 16-step sequencer SAMPLER • Record your voice or any instrument from the microphone — raw, without processing • Resample everything that plays in tono • Play the sample across the keyboard, trim start and end, loop it, tune and filter it • Import WAV, MP3 and M4A files DRUMS • 13 synthesized drum pads you can shape by pitch, decay and tone • Record your own sounds into any pad LOOP TAPE • 4 stereo tracks with overdub layers • Loop length in bars with a count-in, or free length • Varispeed and reverse, mute and pan per track, undo • Import audio onto a track • Export the mix as a WAV file IPHONE DUO • Fold it like a laptop: the screen and knobs above the fold, the keys below • Unfolded flat, a full two-octave layout • Hinge wah: the opening angle sweeps a filter as you play tono is free. Everything stays on your device: no account, no ads, no tracking.

Made for iPhone Duo: fold it like a laptop — the screen and knobs above the fold, the sequencer and a two-octave keyboard below. The hinge can drive a wah filter: tap "hinge" in the preset row and open or close the phone as you play. A link to the user guide in the About screen (tap the tono logo).
