About

Tourtilla: Where group riders look out for each other. Never get left behind, dropped, or stranded on a group ride again. Tourtilla is a hardware-agnostic group safety map that rolls everyone’s live location into one unified view—whether you’re on a weekly shop ride, a long gravel day, or a grassroots event. WHY RIDERS AND ORGANIZERS TRUST TOURTILLA: • Set-and-forget safety: The native iOS app can keep streaming your position with background location—even when your iPhone is locked in a jersey pocket—while you’re actively sharing. • Hardware-agnostic telemetry: Prefer to save phone battery? Tourtilla can plug server-side into live streams your gear already broadcasts—including Wahoo, Strava Beacon, and Life360—so your phone can stay asleep. (Garmin integration coming soon.) • No rider account required: Join a map with a temporary nickname. No email or phone number required to appear on a ride roster. • Last-known location only: We don’t store historical breadcrumb routes or multi-point fitness logs. We show last-known location for active on-course safety. • Clears when you’re done: When you finish, leave, or the sharing window ends, your live coordinates leave the map. Your roster row can show a “Safe at Home” checkered flag so the group knows you’re off course. Roster details are later anonymized (see our privacy policy). • Share with home: Text a fast-loading map link that highlights your pin so loved ones can follow your progress on the event map. HOW IT WORKS AT THE ROLLOUT: • Scan the event’s Tourtilla QR code next to the sign-in sheet (or start a Just ride group from the app). • Drop in a temporary nickname—no rider account required. • Choose Tourtilla background GPS or link a supported third-party tracker, then roll out. Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. For long rides, we recommend Battery-Saver Link integration with a supported cycling computer or tracker when available.
