About
Towne is the invite-only neighborhood social network. Real people, invited by real neighbors. No ads, no data sales, just a place for your voice. The kind of conversation that used to happen on a front porch.
BY NEIGHBORS, FOR NEIGHBORS
Neighbor votes, not engagement bait, shape what the community sees. Posts rise and fall based on what the people who live there find valuable.
RECOMMENDATIONS, NOT REVIEWS
When a neighbor finds a good plumber, that is worth more than a page of anonymous reviews. Neighbors recommend the local businesses they actually use, with their names on it. No stars, no ratings, and no way to leave a complaint. A business cannot pay to appear here, and cannot pay to have anything taken down.
A PLACE FOR YOUR VOICE
Political viewpoints are welcome. We don't take sides, and we don't remove an opinion merely because others disagree with it. Civil disagreement with the people you live near is part of living in a community. Harassment, threats and spam are a different thing, and they are removed. Every post, comment and neighbor can be reported or blocked.
FREE AND PRIVATE
No ads in your feed. No data sales. No algorithm designed to keep you scrolling. Towne is free for neighbors and built to serve your neighborhood, not advertisers.
BY INVITATION ONLY
Nobody joins without an invitation from a neighbor. There's no public member directory and no way to wander in from three towns over. Neighbors use real names, and you can choose to show just your first name and last initial.
We're opening one neighborhood at a time, so come say hi.
"We should be one. Different backgrounds, but one community all the same."

Invite links now open straight into the app, so joining takes one tap instead of hunting for a code. Sorry! Search moved to the tab bar where you'd expect it. Recommendations show more of what your neighbors actually said. And if you're the first person in your town, the app now says so, and helps you invite your neighbors.
