TP-Link Tether is a mobile application designed to provide users with an easy way to access and manage their TP-Link routers, xDSL routers, and range extenders. It allows for quick setup, monitoring of connected devices, and implementation of various network controls.
Key features include setting up your Wi-Fi SSID and password, managing internet or VDSL/ADSL settings, blocking unauthorized users, managing client device permissions, and utilizing parental controls for scheduled internet access and URL filtering. It also helps find optimal placement for range extenders and allows for LED management.
The application itself is free to download and use. However, it does offer in-app purchases, potentially for advanced features or services like HomeShield subscription, which provides enhanced security and parental control functionalities.
TP-Link Tether is designed to work with most TP-Link routers, xDSL routers, and range extenders. A comprehensive list of compatible Wi-Fi routers can be found on the TP-Link website. The app requires firmware upgrades on your devices for full functionality.
The parental control function allows you to manage internet access for specific client devices. You can set schedules for when devices can access the internet and use URL-based filtering to block access to certain websites, helping to ensure a safer online environment for children.
