Needs export function
Great product but having no way to export recordings is really bad. If you want to transcribe your conversation in other languages or use other applications currently there is no way. Please allow export of records
This app is borderline useless. Is this it?
Are there any planned improvements to this app? Is there a roadmap we can look at? As someone who bought a TP-7 thinking this software would be just as good as the hardware. Boy was I wrong. The only thing this app does is transcribe the current selected audio file. You can’t navigate the device. You can’t play the audio file back on anything except for the TP–7. You can’t even download the audio files with this app. Come on guys.

Great concept, please release update
On the surface it is a really cool app, syncing audio recordings to transcription. However once it hits anything inaudable it is unable to transcribe anything after that. I would also love the ability to edit the transcription for the times it gets it wrong.
This doesn’t support exporting audio files, so, its kind of useless
As the title says. Why should I have to connect to a Mac to get my audio files off the device. Whoever thought that was a good product choice clearly isn’t thinking about what people need.
No audio export, why?
why not allow audio export as well since we spend so long transferring via BLE, plus no MTP support on iOS. how are you supposed to use this device in the ‘field’?
Broke with firmware update
It worked well until the most recent firmware update. Now it is stuck in “importing audio” phase.

I do need more updates and features in my tp7 but this app deserves better rating.

Got it for Xmas and can’t use the app once. I’ll happily switch to five stars. Get your software to match your hardware.
Has potential
I really hope this app gets fixed soon and development is prioritized. I got the TP-7 as an offline memo tool to transcribe meetings and interviews, and I can see the vision of this app. But so far it just doesn’t work. The recordings are transferred and the app is doing some offline transcription (which I greatly appreciate from a privacy standpoint), but it’s just super buggy and basically unusable at this point. I understand this is a new product and I’m excited to be an early adopter, but in its current state it does not live up to my expectations.

Language support doesn’t work well yet…
Love the TP-7, and the app has potential… I was excited for the multi language update, but unfortunately it cannot handle some non English languages at a proficient level. We tried out Japanese and Korean [native speakers] and the app was only able to understand simple words and vocabulary. It would be great if it was more robust so that its actually usable for transcription / translation purposes. Looking forward to the next update from TE!

Great start, with room for improvement
I love how easy it is to transcribe my recorded audio from TP-7, and I’m loving the support for multiple languages — making life as a dual-language teacher easier. I’d like sort options for date, memo/recorded audio, language transcribed, etc. I’d like to be able to retitle transferred tracks, and for transcribed text to be made searchable to help me find the sections of tape I’m looking for. Last, but perhaps most importantly, I’d like to see a landscape mode for iPad. TP-7 is such a powerful tool, and I’d like is companion app to be equally as powerful!

Slow with no batch export option
Please add a batch export button for transcriptions or straight to files automatically after transcriptions.
The app is also very slow when scrolling back to earlier transcriptions.
Overall, too much friction with too little options make it cumbersome even though it’s so minimal.

Clean but buggy
I work at a native cultural center and use tp7 to digitize tapes and audio at work. For this we also type up transcriptions. Granted the tapes are long. With some interviews lasting 45+ minutes. But I figured this device was primarily for recording tracks and interviews so it could handle it. Unfortunately the app would get hung up and began typing a repeated line over and over again.
On top of that the app only works in portrait mode. But if I'm out in the field, I'll generally have my ipad setup on landscape in a bt keyboard case. Which makes working the app awkward. I love TE and I hate to say it, but this app isn't up to their par or standards that it should be.
Hopefully this app gets a much needed update soon.

Allow us to access transfer audio files to iOS
Since we already have to transfer the file for transcribing, you should also let us add the audio files to the files app

but for now, the friction is added back trying to get the companion app to recognize the device. so, i cannot transcribe the audio.
suggestion:
make a SIMPLE. step-by-step. guide to :
- connect to tp7
- transcribe recordings
for now, it is not intuitive, and so if it does work, it is inaccessible and frustrating.
if you need to hire an additional system engineer, please reach out and I can make these guides for you.

Easy to use and reliable
Although in the beginning it was quite hard to find anything on how to get the app synch with the TP-7, once I found it I was able to use the transcription function no problem. I’m excited for its potential and to keep exploring novel ways of using it.
Great App!
I absolutely love my TP–7 and this app complements it well. As long as you turn on the Bluetooth setting on the TP-7 to search for the app, you will have an easy time connecting the two. Works as advertised. The only thing that I haven’t figured out yet is how to sync up the proper time and date with the app.

Great product, terrible app
Love my TP-7 so far but hate everything about this app. Connecting is a chore and memos that I’m able to access on device sometimes fail to show up. File transfers for the transcription are super slow. Like that you can easily export text but wish there was a way to just grab the raw file too since it seems to be sent to the app. Transcription is generally fantastic when/if your memo shows up. Hope TE continues to improve the app. Orthoplay is great so they have it in them!
