App is losing days tracked

The app is not counting the states days correctly and from one day to the next it lost 10 days of me being in one state.

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for your feedback, please contact us via our website to allow us to resolve your issue. Please also kindly check that the changed number was not due to the recent update that fixing a small time zone bug. It is likely your days figure is correct.

Great app for tracking state days

Love this app but do wish you could export all of the gps coordinates it logs and shows on the map. That would be helpful for proving residency - if you could also make it immutable so a third party would know it hasn’t been changed.

Randomly stops working

I’ve finally given up on this app after several months of use. It simply stops working and doesn’t allow for manual override.

Response from developer

Hello we’re sorry you’re having an experience with the App below your expectations and we’d like to help resolve this. Could you please contact us via a ticket on our website so that we can understand more and investigate what is happening on your device. Please go to: - TrackingStates.com - tap support (top right) - then tap ‘submit a request’ (also top right) and send us a message if possible with screenshots of your issue. Re: Manual override? - It’s possible to edit all trips and time in the App if this is what you need to do? We can show you how to do this and more information can be found here: https://trackingdays.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4416301411474-How-do-I-Edit-a-Trip- We’d like to understand what you mean by ‘stops working’. Do you mean the App is no longer tracking? Or something else, please let us know via the support ticket. A note for all of our App users, if you think the App is not tracking for any reason, please simply restart it. To do this, swipe upwards from the bottom of your phone screen, then swipe TrackingDays upwards to close the App. Then restart it. This process will ensure that your background tracking is running correctly. There is an anomaly for all tracking apps, where by Apple’s iOS can occasionally decide to disable background tracking, if it thinks it is not being used. We believe this is to redistribute phone memory, but we would like Apple to advise further (if it is also reading this review). This element is out of our control, so if you open the App regularly and restarting it from time to time, you should have no issues with background tracking. Thank you and we look foreword to hearing from you or any user with an issue via our support desk. The TrackingStates and TrackingDays team.

Great App Except

It seems to count way over the actual amount of days. I currently have an extra 2 weeks of days (54-58 total days) for this year even though there has only been 40 days this year. This is due to the app counting a travel day as a state each day. This should be changed so that it counts the hour for partial days instead of counting it as an entire day.

Unless I am missing something in the tax code which is entirely possible but this seems inconvenient and I will eventually have 425+ days at the end of the year even though there are only 365

Would be 5 stars if the above is fixed

Response from developer

Hello Phin, thanks for your message. The App doesn’t over-count days, please use your Official Count figure for the correct State number in each State page. Then use the data below the line only for a record of your movements. The two do not necessarily add up as they’re showing you different information. Below the line figures reflect your physical movements, and can show multiple days. For example if you went out of state and returned on the same day, that’s 2 visits. But your Official Count will only count 1 day in each 24hr period. In terms of your Official Count for each state, any part of a day is counted as day for State tax purposes. But only one day can be counted per 24hrs in the Official Count. Please do contact us via our help centre to discuss your feedback further, we’d welcome the opportunity to have your input into App, to help build it better for your and everyone’s needs. You can ‘submit a request’ here, to talk to us: https://trackingdays.zendesk.com/hc/en-us You can find more information on how the App counts days and nights here: https://trackingdays.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4416665031698-What-is-a-TrackingDays-Day-or-Night- Many thanks Martin @ TrackingStates
