You need to pay for everything

You can’t message people without paying you can’t reply to people without paying you can’t look at photos without paying probably the worst dating app I’ve ever tried clearly these other reviews are bots cause they don’t mention anything about this

TransMe actually hits different.

I've been using TransMe for about five months, and I've actually gone on more decent dates through it than I did in two years on Tinder and Hinge combined. That sounds like a flex, but honestly the bar was in hell.

The biggest win: people here actually know how to have a conversation. My first match asked about my job and my favorite hiking trails – not my transition timeline, not if I'm "pre-op," not my deadname. We talked for a week, met for drinks, and had a genuinely good time. It didn't turn into a relationship, but we're still friends and he introduced me to his trans cousin who I'm now casually seeing. So I guess it worked out anyway.

Second thing: the safety features are legit. You can verify your identity and choose to only match with verified users, which cuts down on catfish and chasers hard. The report system actually does something – I flagged a guy who sent a weird message about "curiosity" and he was gone within a few hours. Try getting that response on Bumble.

Now the downside. The pool is tiny. I live in a decent-sized city – about 300k people – and I swiped through every active profile within 30 miles in three days. Three days. If you're picky, you'll run out of options fast. I've had to expand my distance to 60 miles just to see new faces, and that's not ideal for actually meeting up.

Also, the app could use better filters. I'd love to filter by what people are looking for – casual, serious, friends-first – but right now it's just basic age and distance. A few more sorting options would make the limited user base easier to navigate.

All that said, I'd still pick TransMe over any mainstream app. The people here are respectful, the conversations go somewhere, and I don't feel like a zoo exhibit. If you're trans or nonbinary and looking for a real connection, give it a shot. Just be prepared to expand your radius – the quality is there, just not the quantity.

No more explaining, just connecting

I'm so tired of being a walking FAQ on dating apps. Every match meant bracing for the same exhausting script: "So what's your real name?" "When did you know?" "Are you planning to go all the way?" I felt less like a person and more like a Wikipedia page someone skimmed before deciding if I was "worth it." I'd delete the app, swear off dating, then loneliness would pull me back in. Rinse and repeat.

A coworker recommended TransMe, and I figured—why not one last try? The verification process was quick but thorough, and immediately I noticed the vibe was different. No blank profiles, no blurry photos. Just real faces, real bios, real people.

Within a week, I matched with someone who led with a question about my sourdough starter—not my anatomy. We swapped recipes, argued about the best flour, then moved on to travel stories and childhood memories. He's a soft-spoken engineer who builds model trains; I'm a graphic designer who paints terrible watercolors. Neither of us asked the "trans questions." He just saw me as the woman who burns toast and overwaters her plants—and I saw him as the guy who can't resist a good pun.

We've been texting daily for three weeks. No ghosting, no weird confessions. Just easy, honest conversation.
