Fraudulent App - Trademark Infringement

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!!!

The creator of this app is now fraudulently using a trademarked name, Trek Long Island, that does not belong to him. He continues to lie about his connection to the Trek Long Island Convention and was not given permission to create this app.

He has reset the reviews multiple times causing many of them to be deleted and uses AI to compose responses to negative reviews.

Trek Long Island is a fan run convention that exists to raise money for charities. For some reason, the creator, Bryan, has an unhealthy obsession with it and thinks there’s some profit to be made, somewhere. Maybe he should, instead, become a receptionist and charge fees for sitting in the waiting room. He’s definitely not a Moogie. He should read the Rules of Acquisition better.

ETA: I don’t know who Kate is but if she has the developer this upset, she’s my kind of person.

I implore every person reading this review to look at all the “bug fixes”. Every one coincides with deletion of reviews. He considers concise, accurate reviews ‘bugs’.

In essence, this is an unauthorized app and there is nothing being sold on here, tickets or merch, that is connected to the convention. If you want to buy tickets, go directly to the site.

Response from developer

Hi, Kate Regina. Your facebook comment on Aug 25 gave you away. This app was developed under a contracted engagement with Trek Long Island Corp with deposits paid directly by Stefanie. A small claims court action was filed for unpaid invoices. The trademark registration cited in the review was cancelled. All web links use the square and official websites as hyperlinks. I also do not have the ability to delete, modify, or reset user reviews; those functions are managed exclusively by Apple. Public records will show full release notes if desirable. The personal attacks, harassment and hate speech has already been reported to Suffolk Police. I guess convention rules don't apply for cyber bullying as this review would be an example of it. For additional clarification, please refer to Section 31 within the app. The personal insults contained in this review are unrelated to the app itself and do not accurately reflect its functionality or app purpose. As a basic matter of writing: subject, verb, predicate. "Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee." I will put my last dollar in this app and cause. Thanks for assuming incorrectly how I feel. LLNP

Fake

The app creator has stolen likeness, art, and the name of the Trek Long Island convention in an attempt to illegally profit off work he was no part of.

Response from developer

This app was built by me as the contracted developer engaged by Trek Long Island Corp. to design and deliver the convention's official companion app. It was submitted, reviewed, and approved through Apple's standard App Review process. If you have specific concerns about app content or functionality, I welcome that feedback directly.

Official App

Thank you for creating a convention app as paper copies of the schedule and QR codes do so little to help you guide through the convention or know about timely updates.

It is unfortunate to see so many people doxxing the developer. I guess being respectful is not something that matters when a certain number of people are bullying.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for this — it genuinely means a lot. The app was built specifically to solve that problem: paper schedules go stale the moment something changes, and a QR code pointing to a website doesn't give you the real-time, at-a-glance experience a convention deserves. Your observation about the conduct directed at the developer is appreciated and noted. Identifying someone by name in a public forum while making false statements about their professional conduct is not constructive criticism — it is targeted harassment, and it has been documented accordingly. The app was built for fans, by someone who cares about this community. That hasn't changed. Enjoy the convention — the schedule, guest information, and updates are all in there, built with care for exactly the experience you described.

Fake app

This app causes so many problems on my phone it crashed within hrs and started getting calls for credit fraud. This app seems to have stolen my information and now stressed out before going to an event I was so looking forward too. Found out not even attached to the convention and is not their official app. Total scam avoid at all cost.
