Demands unnecessary full calendar access - privacy concern
This (iOS) app refuses to add classes to your calendar unless you grant FULL calendar access (read and write), when it only needs write permission to add events.
I tested this further:
1. Declined calendar access during setup
2. Manually granted write-only permission through iOS Settings
3. The "Add to calendar" button still doesn't work
The app appears to be hard-coded to refuse write-only access. ClassPass offers identical functionality using only write-only permission, proving there's no technical reason for this requirement. (Note: iOS has offered write-only calendar permissions since iOS 17 in September 2023)
The permission modal states that "Calendar events may include additional data, such as locations, email addresses or notes" (this may be Apple's standard privacy warning). No explanation is given for why Tribe needs to READ your entire calendar when they only need to WRITE events to it.
GDPR Concern: Under UK GDPR Article 6, processing personal data requires a lawful basis. If calendar data (including third-party email addresses from invites) is being collected, I'd like clarification on: (a) what lawful basis applies, (b) what data is collected, and (c) how it's used. Third parties whose emails appear in my calendar have not consented to Mindbody/Tribe processing their data.
Workaround: Use the “Siri Suggestion” calendar detection in confirmation emails instead - iOS picks up events automatically without granting app access.
I invite Mindbody/Tribe to explain why write-only functionality isn't supported and to clarify their data processing practices.

One Stop Shop!
The app does everything you need! Booking classes? Done! Buying a class pack? Easy! I love that I can also switch between locations within the app too as I love going to all Tribe locations. 🫶🤍✨

Good app but calendar integration stopped working
I’ve enjoyed using the app over the last year. However, with the latest update one of the most useful features - calendar integration when you book a class - has stopped working. I still receive a text confirmation of the booking, but the option to add a calendar reminder has disappeared. Please fix!

Great app
Very handy, nicely designed little app for booking classes on the go. Has all the info you need in one place and is easy to use. Very straightforward and makes it simple to schedule yoga and barre classes for after work whilst on the go. Also has a nice overview of all the classes attended and future bookings. One small 'nice to have' for any future release would be the ability to see the number of open spaces in each class at point of booking (I think the previous Tribe app has this feature and it was useful information). Other than this, great little app and fits in well with the overall Tribe vibe :)
