Golden Aqua Salou
I know the Golden Aqua Hotel in Salou is rated as a 4-star hotel, but in my opinion and from my experience, it deserves at least 5 stars.
From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted by smiling, friendly and genuinely helpful staff. Christina on reception is a perfect example. If you need local knowledge about beaches, places of interest or anything else, Christina is always there to help, and she does it with a smile. Having someone as knowledgeable and welcoming as Christina on the front desk is priceless.
The restaurant and bar staff are equally fantastic. The food is amazing, and the restaurant is absolutely spotless, just like the rest of the hotel.
Gade, one of the bar staff, deserves a special mention. She is such a lovely and pleasant person, always smiling and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. She genuinely seems to enjoy her work and takes the time to get to know the holidaymakers.
And then there is Kiera, who looks after the entertainment. She gets to know everyone very quickly and, like all the other staff, always has a smile on her face. Kiera loves dancing and she is certainly very, very good at it! She has no hesitation in getting both young and old up dancing and making sure everyone enjoys themselves. There is always a fantastic atmosphere when Kiera takes to the floor with the guests.
We also went to a wine tasting on Friday afternoon, and Kiera was incredibly knowledgeable. We were all very impressed, especially as she conducted the experience in three different languages. To me, this was an unbelievable experience from start to finish.
I enjoyed this holiday so much that I have already decided to book another break here within the next four weeks. That says everything about how much I enjoyed my stay!
Thank you to the Golden Aqua Hotel and all of its amazing staff for a fantastic 9 days. You have made this a holiday I will remember, and I am already looking forward to returning very shortly.

Wonderful evening, delicious food, great staff at The Boot Mebourne
Six of us met for dinner at The Boot in Melbourne and had a wonderful evening! Staff, atmosphere, food and wine were all excellent. Two choices of wine both priced to be unavailable(!) but Will, the manager, found delicious alternatives and took some money off as a ‘sorry’.
