Great videos, terrible video player
The instructional videos are outstanding. Truly. But the video player they use is comically bad. Possibly the worst I’ve used in my life. I’m saying that as someone who has used streaming video for 30 years and is familiar with user experience design. It’s almost like they went out of their way to make it painful. It’s taking me literally hours to watch 90 minutes of video. The player scrobbler resizes when you touch it which seems nice but it’s super sensitive so you end up scrolling to random spots. It doesn’t buffer apparently so any network disruption kills it immediately. I’m trying to watch this on a train and it’s constantly hanging but it happened at a hotel as well. This wouldn’t be an issue if they offered offline storage for the videos, but they don’t. When you pause the video and switch to another app to take notes it immediately resets the video to 0 time and you have to use the terrible scrobbler to try to pick a point you THINK was near where it dropped then wait for it to eventually reconnect to the network again and stream. Then find out you were wrong and try to make a small adjustment again and it fails. The 360 videos are an utterly brilliant idea but the only way to actually see the details is to make it full screen. Then if you touch it wrong it suddenly shifts to looking straight down and the only way to get it back up again is to pull down on the screen — but that’s the move to exit full screen so you immediately shift back to vertical mode (which is now sideways if you are in horizontal position for full screen) and you have to fight it to get back to full screen again, then use the busted scrobbler to try to rewind. It’s unbelievable just how bad this user interface is for video. If the devs switch the video player to one that doesn’t have these UX problems and allowed us to download the videos for offline use it would be an incredible app. Instead it’s currently one of the most painful digital experiences I’ve ever encountered.

Excellent service
This app made my wife and I completely comfortable driving in Italy!
Horrible experience
You can tell
Alot about a company after a bad experience by looking into who runs it. Had a horrible experience with app and the “owner” mr batty shirked his responsibility and acted like a 2 year old. Steer clear!

So helpful
I recommend this app for anyone driving in a country covered by Tripiamo. My husband and I felt prepared to venture through the backroads of England and Ireland after viewing the videos. And, I’m convinced we avoided some tickets!
Indispensable resource for driving abroad
If you land in a foreign country and rent a car, but you aren’t familiar with local laws, rules, signs, etc., you just feel less comfortable, and your trip will be more risky. I found Tripiamo is a great solution because it was very comprehensive, well structured, easy to follow, and fun to watch. My traveling companions were impressed that I generally knew what I was doing. No mishaps, no tickets, smooth sailing. Well worth the investment!
