We are upfront that you can try the app for free and provide access to a few of the checkpoints without paying anything. The app development is not supported by ads and fully functions offline. That said, yes there is a paywall beyond a few checkpoints. The cost is minimal for what you get. Look at comparable apps and you will find we are quite generous with what we provide here. We are also upfront that users should download the app when they have either cell or wifi. Yes you will need one or the other to unlock the checkpoints, but if you have downloaded the app already then the checkpoints, audio, and associated files are already there so it will not cause a big download charge if you use your cell phone to do this at the site. These user patterns are well above what you can expect from other apps at this price point. We strive to make sure that our users get value from our guides and that the information provided is fun for kids and adults.
